Well shitballz. That would have been considerably easier than painting them! Do they match the size of the letters right? I see they have them in a variety of colors as well.

Well dang, that looks pretty sharp. Might have to go with the Toyota version with blue letters now.

    Here you go.

The ones that are most noticable are the O's, because the top is almost higher, but it does sit within the face.

Yeah...they kind of blew it on the "O's" on the faux grille. Didn't notice the discrepancy until after it was painted (making it a little more obvious), but the letters are slightly "wider" than the other letters. You've got to look close, but to someone who's anal like me...you'll notice.

Doesn't bother me enough that I need to spend another $150 to $200 on the legit pro, but it is one of those things like an optical illusion you finally figure out....once you see it, you can't un-see it.

So I got my grill today, looks good. What size drill did everyone use to mount the letters?

Well, fwiw, I used a 5/64" drill. Pegs fit perfectly. I didn't hollow out the O's. I may want to in the future, but I'm not sure how to remove the letters now that they have the metal clips on the pegs.
Grill looks good on a black truck.

First Mod! Really pleased with the product and think this makes for a much improved look over the stock chrome grill. Shout out to the OP for the heads up!

After a horrible attempt at plastidip on my stock TRD OR grill, a faux pro grill it is!

I was contemplating this route as well but didn't want it to come out looking tacky or too "Auto Zone". Just got my faux grill on Friday.

Will prep and paint the letters early this week and put it on after that.

What are any pros/cons for painting your 'TOYOTA' letters vs buying the vinyl letters?

Seems like the cost of all the materials for paint would exceed the cost of the vinyl letters.

Mine is mounted up. Grille looks good quality. Leaving my letters black.

I was lucky enough to find an OEM Pro grille new on Craigslist for $250.

I approached it like this.....using the vinyl decals seems a whole lot easier. The painted ones do look sharper, though. Easier wins for me in this case.

What color letters did you go with on your quicksand? Which vendor did you use?
