    When I had my second gen I bought a Kenwood and wiring harness. I let Best Buy install it and I watched closely. As far as I know, the new wiring harness does replace the one that's in the truck now. Last year I installed one in my buddy's truck, but he didn't have all the parts so it wasn't clean as I wanted... As far as the microphone the sky's the limit might be a little tricky though;). I ran into just having not having everything there and not having to run out to get different things. If you still want steering wheel controls I highly recommend the wheel adapter kit.
