Can I get an update on your Weathertechs? You still like em? Would you recommend them?

    Thanks,

Still like 'em. I haven't taken them off since putting them on and I've definitely put them through their paces over rocks and such. I recommend them for sure.

This weekend I traded in my 2016 TRD Off Road for a SR 2.7manual 4x4. I did it for a couple reasons: they recently announced they are closing the pharmaceutical plant I work at, so my future employment is up in the air, so with the new truck I save a good bit every month and will save over $5k over the life of the loan(Southest Toyota was offering 1.9%), and I just love the simplicity of this truck. Proven drive train and not a ton of electronics to go haywire after 10 years.

Anyway, I'm looking for A/T tires right now in P265/70r16 size. I've narrowed it down to Cooper A/T3, Hankook Dynapro ATM, and Falken AT/3. The Falkens weigh a few more lbs each so I'm not sure if their more aggressive look is worth it.

Anyone have suggestions on these or possibly others? Trying to stay in the same price range and weight is a concern for the obvious reasons. TIA

Congrats bud on your SR, your the perfect member to post up thoughts as you drive your SR in comparison to the loaded models and such.

Prayers offered for the job area and such, sounds like your being smart about it.

    1.9% rocks!

I have the Hankooks (265/75/R16) and love em, they look good also if you like white letters out and have stock steel wheels like I do, lol... Ignore the 2nd Gen part.

I was looking at the Falkens but when DT told me they would mount and balance at the same price even if they came from their eBay store I got the Hankooks. It was a little cheaper for me that way.

EDIT: Look into the 265/75 vs the 265/70, with the 265/70 being a "Special" size prices can be slightly elevated when compared to the more popular 265/75 tire.

I am running the Hankook in a 17in...second set I have owned (1st set on a different truck). I do like this tire.

I have the Hankooks as well, they are great tires so far. I've been impressed with their traction in snow and offroad.

Maybe the 2018's will have the 3 color Coleco display like the one on the Corolla LE.

That's a really good mention man, because the nicer models have almost a similar display as the current upper level trucks do with the MID, just a few more added options to turn the TSS stuff on or off and change some activation thresholds and such.

When you YouTube search TSS and see some of the displays they look almost identical to the current TRD Tacos, just stuck in a different gauge package.

Hmm, makes you wonder doesn't it.

Also if they include it in the SR there should be controls on the right side of the steering wheel for the options right?

Great looking SR! Right now I'm leaning towards the Falken A/T3W. Discount has quoted me a great price that is lower than the Hankooks, but I'm just worried that the extra 4lbs per tire will make a big difference in power vs the 38lb Hankook. As far as size, these trucks are already geared a bit too high so I don't want to make it worse with a larger diameter tire

    Hmm,

I doubt you'll feel the difference in the 4lbs per tire but you could always use it as an excuse to search and get some aluminum 16" wheels, hahaha

    I would! :amen:

I have Cooper AT3 in 265/70/17. The road noise is a bit more than I expected and they're not great in the rain. However they are snow rated, none of the cheap ATs in that size were, but I haven't had them long enough to test them in snow.
