Not sure about the TX-2 they don't come thru here to often mostly T-1s,c-130,c-27, an H/C-5 as far as military fixed wing Aircraft. Army helicopters pretty often but they don't care about anything crazy mofos.

Just found this thread thanks to @TeecoTaco Im an A&P Mechanic. We work on everything (but limited to) things with a PT6A. Today we pulled an engine from this Otter. Though we typically do work with Crop dusters (Ag Cats, Air Tractor, Thrush etc...)

On a pilots note (which Im not) I did get to fly this SP22 a few weeks ago. We were working on another plane in VA but needed a part from our shop back in NC. A pilot flew me there where we met my dad (who got the part from our shop and met us at the air port) and on the way back he let me fly most of the way and even let me land! Of course with his help but he said I did about 80% of the work. With no prior exp. I feel like I did well and it was very fun. The Aviation industry is by far the best career field I could ask to be into whether its being a mechanic or a pilot.

Man @justinmbowen I'm jealous of how much you get to travel! Cool pictures, too. That's definitely a huge plus over us rotor heads. Though, being so much lower and slower, we really do get to see everything a bit better ;D

I'm still skimming through all the pages in this thread, there are some cool pictures in here.

    Obligatory photo dump!

(Fun fact, the airplane is Lancair 360 S/N 1. Belongs to my father, pictures of it are from Oshkosh last year)

Pardon my crappy cell phone pics. I wish I had the proper equipment to do these amazing machines photographical justice.

Great photos!! I love helicopters, but I haven't gotten around to learn how to fly them yet. Someday I will hopefully join your ranks.

You need to get around to it. It's a whole new level of flying that is so much more enjoyable. You actually have to actively fly the aircraft the entire time, especially on the simpler models people generally learn to fly in.

I can't recommend a discovery/introductory flight enough. I've got about 50 hours flying fixed wing and it just doesn't compare. Very dynamic environment.

I'm tempted to try out a little Robinson for fun. Smallest I've flown is basically a Bell 206 (TH-67 and OH-58).
