Yep, that's perfect bro. They're hitting anything that's bright and moving fast. Their predatory instincts take over and they have to check it out. I cast out and let it sit a few times and nothing... as soon as I get the bait moving, they start hitting. I was having good success with blue, purple and multicolored power bait, bluegill bait (which is like the power bait pellets, green yellow and red on the same pellet), and also cooked crayfish tails. Oh and salmon eggs too. Hell, I even saw them hit the sinker multiple times.

13 by 10 o'clock! Would have stayed to limit out but had to work  lots of birds, had to search for them once it warmed up but they were flying good early this morning.

Nice! I think I know right where you're at. Today a coworker told me today that he used to hunt that same spot like 20-30 years ago. He showed me the farm fields on Google Earth but he said he wasn't sure if you could still get back there. Apparently you can. Is there alot of hunters out there?

my spot I usually go to was super slow, just outside of maricopa. normally i could shoot a limit in 30-45 mins, birds weren't flying and the ones that were flying were up 50-60 yards. Ended up having to switch out to a full choke to knock them down.

It's a sweet spot for sure. It's right by an old ranch house and a huge pond, and you can get back there fine you just have to drive through that old ranch property. There are no gates or anything and it's deserted so don't worry about driving through. It was my first time out there and it was awesome, tons of people were hunting right off the road after you leave the neighborhood in red rock and take the split to the right past the cattle pins. Once we got back to the spot nobody was there and we just parked up on the berm of the pond and could see them coming from a ways off. I'll probably be back out there Sunday evening to see what it's like later in the day.

That's awesome man. We were looking for that pond on Google Earth but couldn't find it. Are you planning on going out Monday morning at all?

Maybe this is a better place to ask...

Anyone know of a place (or member) who does camo dyeing?

I ordered some UCP camo stuff (holster, 2 mag pouches) that I want to get dyed down to OD green... I know the pattern won't go away but that's fine, I just don't want the awkward bright UCP color.[IMG]

This is an example of what you can do with a plain old ACU w/ the UCP (top) to dye it down to jungle green (middle) or a more muted OD green (bottom)

have you tried looking into OCP? Allied Surplus in Mesa has tons of it for sale, pattern is much better as well as the camo design.

Yeah I actually got a lot of my gear from Allied, including the chest rig a lot of this stuff is going on. I've been meaning to check out their other location in N Phoenix I like the place so much!

Thing is, I was looking for a very specific holster and it was hard to find and/or expensive in anything but UCP. On fleabay the UCP was 14 bucks for the holster and 4 bucks for the mag pouch. At that price I couldn't pass it up knowing that you can dye it. I just don't really have a good place to do the dyeing and I've never done it before, so I figured if there was a place out there that would dunk it for me I'd gladly throw them some money, as even then it would probably still put me ahead of the game. Retail is $60+...

I'm planning on heading out there tomorrow morning with a co-worker. I've been trying to figure out exactly where you we're at by looking at Google Earth but I'm not sure I'm looking at the right tank because I don't see any farm house. What time are you heading out?

I'm not gonna be able to make it tomorrow but I can send you the coordinates to the spot, if you use google maps for navigation it'll take you right to that house then just drive past it and you'll see the pond berm on the right. Just follow the road through that property and along that berm and it'll take you to a smaller pond, That's the good spot! I'll pm you those coordinates
