I think someone must have posted this somewhere before. My Tacoma starts right up in the morning, but if I drive for a while and turn it off, I get nothing when I try to restart. No clicking sound, radio comes on and power is there. Need to keep trying until it starts. Suggestions? Anyone else had this problem in the past.
    Thanks

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
Also check starter relay. If it gets hot and stops working it might be failing.

    Check the easy stuff first:
    • Cables hooked up nice and tight.
    • Battery terminals corroded?
    • Vehicle in Park (have you tried starting it in Neutral?)
    • When it starts, does the starter sound like it's working really hard to turn the engine over?
    • Relays/fuses good?
If those aren't the problems, then I'd also think about replacing the starter. If that doesn't fix it, then maybe you have a short somewhere in your starter circuit. But we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

Had a starter go out like this on a VW a long, long time ago, when hot would not make a sound.

If it happens again before you figure it out, try jumper cables. If it starts right up, then I'd say the battery is on it's way out.

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
Could be the key immobilized. Had this issue with a chevy Colorado before. Would start fine and run great. Shut it off and try to restart, nothing.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
    Here's a quick tip.

Next time, as you mentioned, after driving around then stopping and turning off your truck, try starting it again. If nothing happens (as you previously stated) no clicking, no start, etc. tap all around on the starter with a small hammer or large wrench a few times then try starting it again.

If it starts then more than likely it is the starter and needs to be replaced. The majority of the times once the starter outlast it's function, the
windings inside the starter start to get stuck (due to over the years of dirt, rain, heat, etc.) especially if it's hot, needs to cool down some to loosen up.

    Good Luck.

Not trying to be a dick, but that makes no sense at all.

The starter solenoid could be sticking or the solenoid contacts could be worn out. I had to replace mine this morning on a 2012.

Maybe the remote chance that the armature bearings / bushings are worn causing the starter to drag.

Windings are just wire, they don't stick.

Try starting it in Neutral. Could be the Safety Switch is going out.
