If I tried I could have stuffed more in the back, but I wanted to keep the soft topper closed properly. And wouldn't you know, it struggled to stay under 75 on the highway, and kept getting pissed at folks getting in the way on the roads leading to the highway.

I have a Thule box (the all black non-shiny inexpensive version, the short and squat one), but haven't used it on my tacoma/Prinsu yet. I think a better option than the roof would be to use KB Voodoo's high rise crossbars like someone posted (I have the OEM tonneau cover, and these look like a good option for also being able to open the cover). I keep putting the crossbars in a shopping cart, but can't pull the trigger just yet.

Also, like another poster said though, they are not 100% waterproof. There's potential for rainwater to get up and under the top of it when driving (not a lot, but enough to say it isn't 100% waterproof).

As for the box itself, it's great and was very useful when I didn't have a pickup.

I think a box for my top may be next on the list, for when we are not moving boats, or if I ever get my trailer converted to a boat rack trailer.

Using a Thule box on Yakima bars. Reasonably secure and weather resistant. Carry sleeping bags, backpacks, fishing poles, skis etc. Great option if you need more stowage. Had it for years and has held up well.

I know this is old but did you ever get that box on your prinsu. Looking to get prinsu and some sort of Thule or Yakima box. Wanting to see how they configure together

I have an older Thule Atlantis xt1800 and it fits well on the Prinsu rack I have in my bed cap. Luckily this cargo box has canes on the bottom so the Tacoma’s shark fin antenna fits. However, I do scrape the ceiling in every parking garage I go too.

No it fits just fine with the box’s clamps, only thing you have to worry about is not scraping your shark fin antenna But this Thule box has vanes you can fit over the fin.

I've used them for years with great results on various vehicles. I haven't needed one on my taco yet because I've only had it 2 weeks, but I'm sure I will.

Here's a video I did a while back discussing my experience with them.

One question I have about truck caps. You can use the gutter mount or track mount. Which is better or stronger?
