Questions for you pros. Made it to page 8 and couldn't come up with an answer. If I get OME 2884 springs, bilstein 5100s a 1/4" driver side spacer and 1.5" wheel spacers, will I need new UCAs? And will it fit a 285-70R17 on stock trd sport wheels?

Most important question is definitely will I need new UCAs :help:

Technically no you won't as under 3" will get you within spec. I would say you should as " within spec" is a pretty wide area. With new UCA's you'll get it right where it needs to be.
    Costs more now$$$ saves you later...as in tire's will wear correctly , that's a big $$$. Front end will wear correctly ....that's a big $$$ .
Not to mention the time it takes to replace later $$$.
    Do it right....:)

From what I've seen on the threads, you'll need close to 3" to clear 285/70R17s. That being said, tire sizes vary a ton between brands, so it depends on which tire you choose.
I would get new UCAs and a longer coil-- save yourself the headache of trimming and chopping, poor alignment, uneven wear, etc. Mike is right, these would likely add up and cost you more in the long run than UCAs.
I just ordered the Dakar leaf pack, 3rd gen 5100s, 888 coils, LR UCAs, and all the miscellaneous bits and pieces for $1600 from Headstrong. If you're looking to save money, you can get an AAL instead of Dakars, and then this same package costs right around $1200 (about as cheap as it gets as far as lifts go). And then you can also save by installing yourself or with a buddy, buying tires/wheels on Craigslist, etc.

Has anyone done an OME 888/bilstein 5100 lift up front but left the back stock?
And does it require a sway bar relocation? And also I'm going to trust y'all's input and get Light Racing UCAs after all.

Is there a difference in 881 coils vs 888?

SOS Offroad Concepts Low Profile Winch Bumper with Smittybilt XRC Gen II 9.5k winch with synthetic rope.
With stock control arms I have no idea. I have SPC Light Racing UCA's and get ZERO rubbing. If you've put out the $$ for a full OME kit you're shooting yourself in the foot not to change out your UCA's.

Been reading this thread and getting more confused. Looking at a full OME kit on my 2017 TRD Off Road DCLB. It will have a A.R.E. CX series camper shell. Should I go with the Dakar Heavy Pack or Standard Pack, 887 or 888 coils, and the stiff or softer shocks. Truck will not be doing a whole lot of off roading, mainly logging roads up to the deer lease while pulling a 5'x8' trailer with an ATV. Leaning towards the 887's with the heavy pack, anyone have any pictures of this set up?

I have the full OME /888 /dakars/ Total Chaos ucas.. justnot the shell. The standard 300 springs ride a little rough if I dont have at least 150# in the back.
    FromToytec:
    Rear Suspension:

    • Springs:
      • Great emphasis was placed on ride comfort, with and without a payload, which led to three loading scenarios using the same leaf spring part number (CS047R). For stock loads where no weight is added, it is recommended to remove a leaf from the spring pack to maximize ride comfort and achieving a 2 inch ride height increase. For heavy applications an extra leaf has been designed.
    • Stock loads (0lbs to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 0-300lbs) *Removal of third leaf required
    • Constant 300lbs (300lbs to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 300-600lbs)
    • Constant 600lbs (600lbs to GVM, optimal performance at loads of 600lbs plus) *Extra leaf required
      • The removal or addition of a leaf spring would need to be completed for those individuals knowing that their rear load scenarios would be lighter or heavier than the constant 300+ lbs load the spring is designed around.

From what I can gleem with respect to the Dakars , I would go with the heavy duty. You can remove a spring if it's too much. Also since I'm putting a front bumper and winch I think the call would be 888 coils.
But to tell the truth, I'm thinking Icon stage 4 as I'm pretty sure that's where I will progress to quickly .

How much weight is your bumper+winch? whats your front hub to fender? I cant decide between the 886 and the 888, I currently have about 70 pounds from my steps, considering adding another 160 with the SSO bumper and winch. Would definitely consider a mobtown skid with the 886 as well, so i guess about 290 total.

he OME 886X coils will provide approx. 1.5” of lift on an 2016+ double cab 4x4 running an additional 200lb+ of up front weight. If you are running less weight then that the ride quality from the OME 886X coils can be quite stiff and the lift will be more.

I have included a list of coil specification below so you can compare them side-by-side. A 5mm difference in length equates to approx. 1/2” difference in lift.

    From Marie at Headstrong
OME 884 coils 590 lbs spring rate 390 mm in length (approx. 1” of lift on a 2016 double cab 4x4)
OME 885 Coils 590 lbs spring rate 395 mm in length (approx. 1.5” of lift on a 2016 double cab 4x4)
OME 886 coils 660 lb spring rate 402 mm in length (approx. 1.5” of lift on a 2016 double cab 4x4 running an additional 200lbs+ of up front weight)
OME 887 coils 590 spring rate 400 mm in length (approx. 2” of lift on a 2016 double cab 4x4)
OME 888 coils 590 spring rate 405 mm in length (approx. 2.5” of lift on a 2016 double cab 4x4)

The OME Dakar leaf pack will provide quite a bit more hauling, towing, and off-road capability over the stock pack. However it will be stiff since you are adding more steel out back but that is the give-and-take in order gain the additional capabilities. The OME pack will provide approx. 2.75”-3” of rear lift over stock. You will maintain the rake of the truck as well. If the overall rear height is too much for you or the ride seems too stiff you can remove the 3rd leaf. Doing so will decrease the spring rate by 15% and the overall height by 15mm. You can also remove the long overload and that will decrease the lift height by ½” but not affect the spring rate. If you feel you need more from the pack there is the OME add-a-leaf which can be added in and that will give you around 15mm of increased lift height and 15% more spring rate. It is not recommended to run the aal just for extra height since the ride from it can be rather stiff if the extra weight is not present.

Rides awesome, yes lots of offroading. When the rear is fully kitted with camping gear it really shines. It soea have the Dakar squeak, but that seems to gotten less with time.

I definitely want to maximize my height, so its hard for me to tell is the 888 or 886 is going to give me more height. I would be 160 off the nose without a skid, 220 with. And then 70 under the cab but idk how that translates to the coil exactly?
