3rd Gen Quicksand thread

Now those are interesting, do you have a picture from the side you could share?

 

Mine's in, finally, but can't get it until Saturday. Looooong week.

 

Was thinking the same but I thought it be best to get some of you all's opinions to see which kit might be better, thanks for the input now just to save a little more and get her lifted!

I have the Toytec 2.5 with single AAL. With 285,75,16. I've been running it for a while I don't really do much off-roading yet but I love it. Rides very nice on the street don't have any rubbing.

2 weeks in and loving it. Add d Ko2's and rigid fogs so far. Dealer threw in TRD pro grill so winning there

Whats your suspension setup?

 

Stance looks good. How much did the single AAL add in height to the rear?

I'm going with Kings w/ compression adjusters on all 4 corners, with a Low Range 1" block in the rear for now. Planning on bumping the front up 1.5" to 2" max. I want to maintain something close to a factory rake as I fairly often load up with camping gear, firewood, etc.

Once I decide on what armor I'm going to put on (gas tank, etc) and am satisfied with the heights and clearances, I'll decide if I'm going to go AAL, Dakar, Firestones, etc. Right now it's about getting the height up a bit and getting a suspension on that will handle the C4 lo-pro and winch at speed. Figuring out the rear end set up will be my next phase of modding once I'm happy with what the above has gotten me.

 

Put on some 4 Runner Pro wheels and 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. They fit and look so aggressive!

 

Some shots from the August 21, 2017, meeting of in San Luis Obispo, CA. Met Graham Holloway from HiTents.com ... really cool guy with a nice Quicksand Tacoma ... don't know too much about his tents yet but they seem beefy and I like that they're made locally.

 

I got about 2 inches in the rear. And about 2.5 in the front and I'm pretty level. I can always lower the front to get back the factory rake but I'm pleased at how it sits and rides.

 

How'd you get them to throw Pro wheels on?

 

I spotted a QS Tundra and couldn't pass up the chance to take pic next to it. I still like my Taco more.. now if it were a QS Pro 4 runner or Tundra Pro maybe...

Really shows how chrome ruins quicksand. Same goes for inferno, and soon to be cement.
