That's all I needed. I reused the big wire clamp from the original intake tube to the airbox and I already had a big worm gear clamp for the elbow to tube connection.

I had originally just wrapped the end of the tube in duct tape and shoved it through the firewall. Don't do that, the tape gets cut through and then you get a very annoying metal on metal squeak as the firewall tried to cut through the aluminum tube. A piece of split rubber tubing on the firewall edge fixed that....

How come you reduce it to 3.5'' instead of leaving it at 4'' like OP?

IS this for more clearance around the brake lines and stuff?

No reason other than at the time it was easier to finds a 3.5" tube In a length I could easily deal with for the right price.

I'm pretty sure the 3.5" flows more than enough to meet the engines need for air

Glad to see I'm not the only one who resorted to mounting a mega-amp fuse holder in that spot.

Heavy duty stick-on felt from HD works well for eliminating the metal-to-metal contact at the firewall. A 3"x5" sheet costs about $3-4, the only tricky part is that I had to use aviation snips to cut the stuff; a good serrated knife could probably get through it with some effort for a straight line cut as well.

I used 3 inch myself. If you measure the throttle body it is also three inches. So I figured it should flow more air than I would ever need being naturally aspirated.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
Has anyone else developed a novel way to plug the hole in the fender? would like to make a cap, tighten up to a bridging bar or something on the inside of the fender. Something I can tighten in and then remove someday if needed. Silicone a plastic plug is last resort.

    Ideas?

BTW, love my mod to the air intake, no issues. Made a separator for the engine intake and the cabin fresh air. Did it to my TRD sport, and put a second battery above the fender there, where OP put the compressor. will be making a fuse box off the aux battery on that side of engine bay, since driver side is taken by supercharger coolant tank and oil catch can.

I had a 4" pipe cap for black perforated landscaping drain. Cut it to fit then black siliconed it on there.

Also... I still have testing to do as per the exact cause but I almost hydrolocked at the last meet. Not sure but I may have had the air box misaligned when I last clamped it down...may have been a big splash into the wiper cowl on 2nd hole...
