Decided to check the valves on the drz. Maybe i'm running my MCCT too tight. I just do not understand. My intake valves seem to be barely 0.127mm, Exhaust are 0.18mm

    Spec range:
    Intake 0.10mm-0.20mm
    Exhaust 0.20mm-0.30mm

    So they are too tight.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
what is MCCT? how many miles since last check?

    Manual cam chain tensioner.

Checked at 7500 and they were perfect.

Bike is now at 12500. Exhuast is definitely too tight. Intake is still in spec but getting tight.

the mcct wont effect that. exhaust is usually the culprit to tighten up anyways if i remember correctly

Its the only reason i can figure that they would be getting tighter....if the cams are being pulled down by the tensioner.

Either way. The buckets must need smaller shims so the cam lones have more clearance. That is my understanding.

Nah, valves just stretch slowly over time. That's why they're a maintenance item. You're right on the shims thing though, that's how you'll adjust them.

Usually what happens is the valve wears where it contacts the seat, which allows the valve to sink farther into the head, which makes clearance smaller. They sell kits for valve shims. You will remove the current valve shim and measure, then put in the next smallest shim so you gain more clearance
