Yeah I would get along with black better if I didn't care how my truck looked. Warranty runs out Nov. of 2018 and if I decide to keep it I'm getting it Line-X'ed. Then no more drying it off after I wash it each week..

I had a black vw jetta tdi for 7 years, washed it maybe once.

Up until the day I sold it back to vw, when the windows fogged you could tell where the lot stickers were (lack of windex).

You speak the truth, not terrible if you don't give a shit.

I've washed my taco countless times already(insert summer's eve joke), would never own a black one.

I want a 2017 DCSB 4x4 V6 bad, but the wife and I are going to wait on the 2018s and see if they get any kind of MID in the gauges to go with the supposedly TSS systems.

Sometimes I wish I'd just bought an SR 4x4 with the color keyed bumper, saved $10k and used that to do what I plan to do anyways. The ONLY reason I just had to have the TRD OR was for the locking diff.

Yes definitely, feels like I'm in an aquarium driving it l. Well first thing I'm doing today is removing the dealership sticker and v6 &4x4 badges on tailgate.

Bought it before I drove it, but took it on a long drive after wards and here are my impressions so far.
The ect power should just be normal driving mode makes a big difference in keeping truck in its powerband. The ride is great....but my last truck was a 99 powerstroke work Truck model 4x4 and it rode like crap, but I will say I think it rides as good or better than my wife's camry. I'm not liking the center consol armrest, I wish it slid forward like the camry does so I can hit more than the corner of it. Otherwise I'm fairly pleased with it, and with my discount(which sucks on Tacomas) and 5 year 100000k mile warranty & no money down I still financed right around sticker on it so I won't lose my ass if I decide to get rid of it in a year or two.

I would have gotten a sr if it had a rear locker . Then again I do love my sunroof.

Interesting. I have a '16 TRD OR DCSB with automatic and all options (sunroof, JBL etc) and 35K miles, and just took it in for my CPS recall. There was a white SR AccessCab 4x4, 4 cylinder with 5 speed and convenience package (cruise, remote lock, anything else) on the lot, and it was really appealing. A, I'd get a new truck with zero miles. B, I'm really regretting the short bed and hardly ever have anyone in the back seat, and didn't/don't want the length of a DCLB. C, the simplicity of a 4 cylinder and 5 speed and less electronic stuff is pretty appealing. Plus I like white. Sticker is $27K, book on my truck is around $30-31K, so realistically with California tax I'd probably just get a straight across trade. And, I do like my sunroof, heated seats, BSM, etc. I've used my AC outlet in the bed more often than I've used the locker or MTS, heck more often than I've used 4Lo, but inverters are cheap. Does this sound crazy?

Nope! Its the way Toyota trucks were meant to be! 2 (real) doors, 4x4, 4cyl, 5 speed!

Not at all! I had all those thoughts but before I bought a TRD. Having come from a fully loaded car previously, I was tired of babying it and taking care of leather etc. I knew I wanted the most simplistic bulletproof truck I could find and do truck stuff with it.

I've had mine for a week now and have zero regrets! Just replaced the HT tires with 265/70r16 Falken A/T3 today and just that made a huge difference in looks! I saved a good bit making the switch though

Our TRD DCSB is currently our only car (wife and I) after having 2 or 3 cars for most of the nearly 30 years we've been married. Being down to one is amazingly liberating (well, we do have 3 motorcycles and 7 or 8 bicycles). And the Taco is probably the "fanciest" vehicle we've owned. I'd miss my keyless start ... at least until the remote gets wet or otherwise dies.
