Bilstein vs OME

    2014 Tacoma v6 base model
    Hey guys,

    I've been trying to upgrade my suspension from the stock setup. After talking to friends and plenty of research it seems to be that OME or the bilstein 5100 setup is the way to go.

    What do you guys think is the best setup in terms of towing, ride comfort, handling (off-road handling as well), and the squat from heavy loads?

    A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more

    Me too. I bought a Bilstein kit with 885 coils and Deaver AAL but never installed it due to moving. Now that I'm getting my garage setup I want to get the lift put on. I'm thinking about selling the Bilstein kit and going with a complete OME kit with Dakar springs since I have a little extra money that I didn't have before.

    OME 881 coils with OME nitrochargers shocks up front. TC UCA's OME Dakars with extra leaf in the rear. Warn 8000 winch with 80ft custom braided synth line. Custom 60ft synth extension. All pro tube bumper, Hi-lift jack, Safari Snorkel, Wilco tiregate. 2019 Jeep JLUR.
    Interesting. I didn't realize ADS was a thing.

    From everything I have read, people really seem to like the OME kit for both on and off road driving. Some say it is a little smoother on the road than the Bilstein but ride quality is very subjective. Whatever you decide, I would suggest talking to Marie@headstrongoffroad. She sells both Bilstein and OME and is always very helpful and knowledgeable with Tacoma lifts.

    Have you had the opportunity to put your hands on ADS? I agree that Kings and Fox shocks are excellent, but they are gaining competition not only from ADS, but from others as well.
