    Hey everyone!
I have a 2005 V6 Tacoma 4WD 4 door. I've had the following lights show up on my dashboard for over a year now: check engine light, traction control, VSC off, VSC TRAC. At first it was intermittent now it's on constantly. I took it to local dealership multiple times. I forget the code but the tech said it was for a speed sensor. He checked all the speed sensor and cleaned the connections and couldn't find anything wrong with them. I eventually stopped taking it because they couldn't give me any answers.

I'm hoping someone on here has had this problem and was able to find a solution. Thanks!

Toyota's will trip the VSC associated lights when the MIL is also illuminated. It just disables the VSC until the Powertrain codes are addressed and repaired.
You need to find out what "P" code you have stored and address it. Parts stores will sometimes pull codes for you in hopes of selling you aftermarket Mexican or Chinese parts...go to the dealer for the parts if you decide to avoid any diagnosis.

    Thanks Jeffs68

The P code is PO500. The dealership said it was a speed sensor malfunction but they checked everything with that and nothing was wrong.....

The wheel speed sensors send data to the Skid control ECU (ABS module), then to the Combination meter (instrument panel) and then the signal goes to the ECM.
Most of the time the ABS module is the culprit, but Toyota did have a rash of Combination meters that caused the issue.

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
I had a Yaris with the same code. Had a bunch of other side effects like no ac and no electronic power steering. Turned out to be a bad cluster.

Thanks. I have a friend who's looking into the combination meter for me. I believe that is what Toyota reported to the main company. The bad part is they didn't let me know what they thought it was.

The only issues I've noticed, which I don't know if they are related or not, cruise control works sometimes and sometimes not, bell that rings when door is open is sometimes delayed or intermittent. And, of course, I have no traction control.

Mataleo, unfortunately not. I started a new job that requires a commute so I've been busy with that.

Read this thread, but start with post 7. Please note it appears your shop did not follow the full FSM diagnostic procedures. Which is concerning.
