Going to send the OP a PM. I know his communication has been questionable lately but I don't need the mount until mid September so hopefully he is found before then!

To everyone here looking for me, and my replies, my sincerest apologies for my reticence. I haven't had the time to deal with these brackets due to personal issues.

I am going back through this thread and PMs in an attempt to catch up with everything I have missed. I do have a bunch of sets sitting in my shop but sending out new sets is going to take backseat to resolving issues if anyone has had them (I am typing this first and am going to reread the thread to catch up followed by PMs.

Again, to all, apologies for my absence and running silent.

    Regards,
    Lostsheep

Okay, I reread through the thread. Sounds like I only have one issue to deal with involving a trade for a Techdech @EatSleepTacos , if you are so inclined, I'll refund you minus shipping per my initial agreement.

To everyone else, I'm going to crack a beer, count the hardware I have on hand, and start working on all of the PM's.

Also, as a teaser, before I went on silent running, this got cut as a geometry check. This is just a geometry check to make sure I got all of the holes lined up. I am examining all possible solutions WRT how best to achieve the desired function; i.e., ease of install, keeping ECU signals intact, durability, and ease of manufacturability for keeping costs down. I'm going to make at least one for my own rig and if I can spit them out for less than the cost of an ADD I will run them.As an aside, I will gladly trade busted ADD's for a set of these RAM mounts. I need as many different years as possible to check for differences. Capture.jpg

Oh I was mostly kidding about that. That was more directed towards anyone else who really wanted one of these but couldn't get one because you were missing. Thanks for the offer though.

As an update, I'm short on backing plates so I will have to run some more next week sometime. I have about 30 sets of brackets that are gtg and another 30 that just need to be drilled and tapped; unfortunately due to the 3 different angles they have to be done on my 4th axis so that will take a little bit of time but the profiles are gtg.

I'm guessing it's to turn our electronic ADD into a manual one. Just means you'll shift into 4wd with a lever instead of an electric switch. I believe that's what the ADD is.

Mostly correct. It will allow for manual engagement of front diff, the equivalent of "locking the hubs". Shifting the transfer case into 4 wheel drive is still done through separate mechanism - also an electric actuator for tacomas by default, but there are oprions to make that manually shifted as well by swapping in a FJ-Cruiser transfer case, which still had the J pattern manual shifter.

I hate the electronic actuators on my truck so I am swapping to an FJ case and would like to convert the ADD to manual operation via a cable. The trick with the ADD is keeping the 4x4 ECU happy; I am unwilling to give up my Atrac and I have no idea what signals the ECU needs to see to keep it happy. My initial thought was to replace the plastic housing to hold the engagement mechanism but if the lower cast aluminum component can be replaced then all of the sensors for the ECU and the breather can be retained so that is my current thinking.
