I am looking to add more power to my 2015 4.0 to help assist with moving my 265/75/16's that were installed after a leveling kit. I am thinking I will use a CAI system, probably TRD for that replacement. Is there anything else that is cost efficient that you guys have had success with?

All replies are appreciated, thank you!

The only true power you'll get will be with a supercharger.

Can't imagine you lost any power by going to that tire size

Regear doesn't add power, but it does wind the motor up faster, getting you into the torque band sooner.

Pick the right ratio to correct what the tires changed and it will run just like stock.

If you're looking for cost effective, forget the CAI

Unless those tires are made of cement that power loss is in your head. Supercharge it or you won't really notice a difference and re-gearing will cost you highway speed and fuel economy.

I couldnt see the 265/75's robbing too much power over stock, but I am new to Tacos. Way back in the day I had a Cherokee that lost a lot after going from stock 29ish tires to 31's. I did see a big difference that was easily solved with some 4.1x gears (cant remember the ratio). Possible re-gear, but I would not expect you to truly loose too much due to the tire size you are running. Did you put on the heaviest wheel/tire combo???

Lets be honest here. They are 265's. I am on 10 ply 265's. Plate bumpers front and rear, LCA skids, relentless skid with a winch, loaded toolbox and this massive heavy penis I am cursed to carry around and I have pep.

I did the same +1 tire upgrade in May, haven't noticed any loss of power. Read the threads... CAI is not a real performance mod. $300 to hear the air suck.

How long/miles since you changed your spark plugs?

I recently switched the the same size tires and there is no loss of power in my 11' DCSB. It will still light them up and go 100+ MPH

I never understood why people spend 5 grand to do a Supercharger on the 4.0. LS swap is about the same money and you'll have a new motor and tranny.
