I was lookin at the expedition one or mobile aid kit but with the idea that I'll kinda be the "medical provider" for our group unless there is someone else there with a higher level of training because of my profession. But for a personal one, there are much cheaper options.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I'm able to bring my wife around! Plus I want her to give me training on the kit so I know what the heck I'm doing with the basics.

I also thought that was @Justanotherhemi until I read more.

Yeah. That is a common misconception about TQ's. Because they used to teach it was a last resort and resulted in serious damage or lose or the limb. Now they are teaching it is the go to way to control bleeding. In our training today they taught to apply them within 30 seconds of the injury, and "high or die" meaning applying them as high up on the damaged appendage as possible.

Surgeons are even using them during routine surgeries to help control bleeding. You can leave them on for as long as six hours without long term damage.

They get used for some big joint surgeries. I've seen them on in the OR for total knee replacements for 2 hours.

We should look into taking a wilderness medicine or trauma course. Maybe we could get a group discount for a few of us

That'd be a pretty neat idea. We'll have to see if anything like that is offered near us.

Im cutting my trip short. Getting tired. Im still having fun! Im back in NYC already. Met with a few NE guys on the way back from Maine today. Still may meet up with a couple more people before I leave.

Ill probably be heading home on Thursday or Friday. Tomorrow, ill get a nice shower in, and ill be back to myself, but with many more states under my belt. When I get back to VA, ill check how many actual miles Ive traveled

driving long distance in a taco sucks, the seats are stupid. been looking to upgrade for a proper bucket but they make you sit even lower. these trucks already sit low for offroading....

    Good Morning peeps!

All that talk about tourniquets made me miss my old profession.

The water is crystal clear. The water here is about 8ft deep. We are standing on a boat dock.
