Might want to check the weight limit for both Kayaks and the mounts? I beleive the OEM Toyota racks weight limit is 150. I guess it depends on what kind of Kayaks you own. I know the fishing ones can get heavy. I would suggest doing a search for Kayak hauling options on this forum.....

He will be fine but the weight on the 3rd gen OEM Roof Racks is 100 pounds

I carry two 10' SUP's on OEM Racks and its fine. Probably in the 55 pound range.

Yeah, I really should have read up on the weight limits before I opted for the OEM. What gives? What did they figure people would be throwing up there?

Didn't do much kayaking last fall after posting this. I'll let you guys know when it starts getting a little warmer in my neck of the woods.

Thule Stackers would work well. I have different base bars but easy and cheap. I have different cross bars but would work well on the OEM setup as well. 20160527_121349.jpg

I’m going with the ditch mount two bar rhino rack. Way more capable than the stock racks. Ive also heard that the bars have come loose on the stock rack while carrying kayaks and the results were not so good.
