Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
FWIW, My Lowes has another sale on different Dewalts where if you buy one tool they throw a 6.0AH battery in free. It's a bare tool though so no charger.

So totally random thing but if you are like me an end up buying say a tube of caulk (or like liquid nails) and only use maybe an 1/8th of it...these little guys are awesome. Ive been using them on everything that has a tip applicator (ie gasket maker).

Basically just a rubber condom that goes over the tip. I did find putting a small piece of foil over the tip then putting the rubber over helps protect the rubber. Both from the rubber deteriorating and also any sharp plastic from cutting the tip open.

Ive also been playing with a different thread locker. Not totally sure how i feel about it quite yet though. Definitely has its pluses but also some negatives.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HBGINA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The pro's are it is a gel and stays on the fastener even if you move it around. It also doesnt drip so dont really make a mess. It also seems to "spread" a bit nicer than loctite as you thread a fastener in. The couple fasteners ive removed have had the gel on every thread. It also definitely works to help set up.

The negative though...it is a bit messy when actually installing the fastener. Id say its like applying anti-seize in that it bunches up a bit.

But just a different product i hadnt seen before till recently. Wont replace my normal loctite but will supplement it. I can see it being nice for the hard to reach bolt holes where you apply it then have the reach in to get the bolt in

Smart thought on the crickets. Definetely a useful add to the project. Will more than likely save some aggravation 10 years down the road.

Day 4 of reno: bathtub in and no more leaking; 24" tiles in and quarter round shelves installed along shower wall. The grout went in pretty easily and everything looks good. We added one of those rounded shower curtain rods so it's screwed into the wall and hopefull will NOT fall on the kids like the other kind that you twist out to tighten.

That's cool! I usually end up using just a bit and then a year later throwing the whole thing away because my weird contraption to keep it fresh didn't work.

Have plans to replace two windows tomorrow (and into Saturday if needed) with new Andersen 400 Series DH. Wasn't planning on starting until tomorrow morning, but I was feeling motivated after work and was able to remove all the cedar shakes and breather board. Install should go quick tomorrow! Going to scrape, sand, prime & paint much of those trim board on the gabel end too (SW facing so it gets pounded by the sun).

I had asked about a source for the 16" metal corners, but I found some soon after. I've got all the other material to replace the siding & breather board.
