I can get a large order of 300 minimum. Think there's enough market to sell them quickly?

Have you checked to make sure it's not the throttle lever sensor. Its the one on the other side of the throttle body.

Whoa... hold on. Which one is this? I replaced my TPS once before, it was the one closest to the firewall on the throttle body. Now, the problem has come back.

I have the cable actuated type throttle body, not the motor type.

Glad you brought this up because I might be after the wrong sensor. Which one are you referring to?

The 2003 - 2004 has a drive by wire throttle body. "ETCS" It still has a throttle cable but... The throttle plate is still opened by an electronic motor. On the throttle body there is 2 position sensors. One close to the firewall a 4 wire sensor 89452-35030. But there's another sensor on the front side close to the cable. Its the throttle lever sensor.

    Are you setting any codes?

Mine looks entirely different than the one in your image  I am not throwing any codes, at least not yet. I will have to take another look. How can you check the throttle level sensor? I checked the TPS with a multi meter based on the position of the throttle.

    What does this sensor do?

If yours doesn't have the 2 sensors then you have the 3 wire tps sensor that's available aftermarket. The throttle lever sensor tells the ECM how much gas your giving the vehicle with your foot. Then the ECM responds by opening the throttle plate.
Note: that picture is upside down from how it sits in the vehicle.
Does yours look more like this?
    2000 throttle body.jpg

If it does you don't have the throttle lever sensor.

Let me see if I can find a picture. I know for sure that it is a 4 pin TPS. Based on your description of the throttle lever sensor, I may have misdiagnosed my problem from the start... the lever sensor would make more sense for the issue I am having... which is.... hesitation and stumbling at lower speeds and rpms.

I have changed out my plugs, coils, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned my MAF and throttle body. I guess I can rule all that out. When I tested my TPS, the voltage readout did not match the estimated position of the throttle, so that is why I replaced that the first time. It seemed to work for a little while, but the problem is the hesitation and stumbling only occurs when it is very hot outside (95 F+) and it does not happen consistently, so it is hard to test it not knowing if the problem is present at the time I am testing.

Someone mentioned my IAT sensor, but the idle seems fine.

    What do you think, Mechanicjon?

Was something changed mid-year in 2003 on the V6's? The reason I ask is, the dealership I have been dealing with is also confused as to why they cannot locate the 35030 sensor, which I am sure I have. The part number is clearly printed on the TPS. I am also not sure why the dealership would not have access to this sensor, but then again, that is why you are having to import these...

If you have that sensor with that oart number you have the other sensor also.

Toyota in their infinite wisdom does not supply part separate from throttle body. I'll dig up the test procedures for other sensor.

Thanks Jon, I will search for it. Hopefully this sensor is not terribly expensive, assuming this is my issue. I will have to check that too.

A new throttle body is $950... with the mileage on my truck, I can't justify dumping that much into it.

I was incorrect with the name. It's called the accelerator pedal position sensor.

Yes. I "believe" that ETCSi was implemented some time in 03.

I also have a low mileage ETCSi TB on the bench, if we need any pictures.

I have a 2001 4runner which uses the same 4wire TPS. Has anyone been able to find any of theses? I see some from china but concerned it will be correct. I know it is a ligit Toyota PN I saw a pic with one in a Toyota bag with the factory information sticker and correct PN.

I realize it's a long time after the fact ... sorry, I been sick. Did this ever go anywhere?

In case it's not obvious, I also need a 89452-35030 4-wire TPS. Any tips on what it should do would help, too.

I'd like to know as well. I'm getting buzzing sound from tps after the truck has been ran for a while and the key is on the "on" position. The tuck also starts rough when engine is warm after sitting for 20 minutes.
