Anyone having issues with this mod? It sounds like water slooshing around on the passenger side floor board area and when I make a left, it sounds like water pouring onto the collector/exhaust under the passenger side of the truck.

I took the hose off last night and no issue. I havent had a chance to see if it got partially blocked and wasn't draining properly and maybe draining off somewhere else.

Just did the mod as per OP's instructions. It took about half an hour but I was being very methodical (measuring twice and cutting once, so to speak.) Bought the truck 11 months ago and ran the ac all summer. No rust...yet, but I could see calcium deposit running down the frame from the drain. Glad I caught it when I did. Thanks, OP!

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
That was easy. Took me longer to get the tire off than to fix Toyota's mistake. Thanks!

Today it was a very delightful day in SoCal so I decided to do this mod to my 1yr old 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport DCLB 3.5L......I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts and got 3" of " ⅝ OD heater hose " , I had a clamp and went home....Let truck rest for 45 min and went out and slid the hose over the OEM ac drain hose and routed it out and down along the beam and zip tied it in three places...I wanted to make sure that there was a "Downhill" flow to any condensation so it would leak out....

I must say that is the year I have had this truck, I have never seen any water on the ground after rides or when a/c has been used....it was very concerning because all my cars drip water like crazy....so I did the mod and turned on A/C full cold and let run....After I started the engine, went around and look to see water pouring out! then if started to drip rather briskly.....let run for 15 min and looked to see what it looked like.....small drips of water which makes sense.....there is a small amount of air puffing out when the engine is running but that is normal...

So thanks to everyone who wrote up their process and to OP for starting post...I have learned a lot form all you guys and gals.....here is what mine looks like....please don't laugh at white tie wraps.....all I had....they will be replaced....:)

    Total cost of parts: $4.47

I would do this, actually more likely should definitely, as its all probably pooling in my skid plates.
but they're heavy and I'm too lazy to remove them.

I'll have to remember to do this next time I drop them...not sure when that will be though lol

I used a male-male barb connector and a couple hose clamps. Just using the tube over tube and zip ties didn't seem to work too well, and was a bit of pain to get over the stupid little wiggly AC line. A couple more dollars if you don't have 'em lying around in the junk drawer, but worth it. Come to think of it, a male-male barbed L would be great too.

You shouldn't have to drop skids to get to the ac line. Just pop your hood and start it downward, then crawl under the passenger wheel area, it will be accessible. I ran mine down thru the frame holes, then out of the LCA, no issues. The clamp is accessible from under the hood.
