In 1917, Henry Ford produced three Model TT's, the first commercially produced pick-ups: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Model_TT

In 1926 they produced over 220,000.

We've come a long way baby. Happy 100th birthday.

    Cool.

Engine pinging/stuttering under load? No problem. Grab one of the levers on the steering column and retard that bitch yourself!

Hit and runs were different back then, if you hit someone with your truck, you'd just get out and run, much more practical.

Didn't the Reo Speed Wagon predate that by 2 or 3 years?

My first vehicle was a 1949 (my birth year) International 2 ton pick-up with a Studebaker V-8 I got in 1966 for $400. Rebuilt the heads and it ran like a top.

Image what we'll have in another 100 years , I mean we have no idea what technology what will be . You think people in 1917 could even imagine crawl control for example ? It wasn't even imaginable then . Cool post OP
