I want to drive out for the weekend and camp out in North Georgia. Anyone know any good spots that are 4x4 accessible preferably by a lake or a creek that allow dogs. Please throw some ideas out, thank you.

Theres a few spots out in Helen that are near a creek on Tray Mtn. I also know of some out in Dahlonega on Hawk Mtn. and there's a few spots on Lake Blueridge you can camp on.

I've never camped on Charlies Creek but it's doable

There are several improved and unimproved camping areas in the Conasauga district.

    https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/conf/recreation/camping-cabins/recarea/?recid=10455&actid=29

Lake Conasauga is accessible by car, but it's 10+ miles on steep gravel FS roads, so it's worth doing in a truck or SUV.

    Google:
    https://goo.gl/maps/w2YBkR8uheq

No wheeling other than bike/ATV in the Cherokee/Chattahoochie NF in that area. No trucks, rails, 4wd allowed on OHV trails.

However, there are hundreds of miles of gravel FS roads, encircling the largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi. One of the main reasons we bought our truck.

Man. Tons to choose from. I need to do a little research. I don't think I would have a problem getting to any of these spots. Thanks guys!

I went to Pine log mountain today to try out the 4x4 conversion. You definitely don't need 4x4 to get through but might help in some parts. Looks like a good camping spot
