Yeah I have a full bed cage and boxed frame. The rack is welded to the bedcage and frame and I have a 12v actuator to raise it. I did the design and Tim welded it together. For the front I have my cross member reinforced, spindle gussets, cam tab gussets, and the frame horns are braced with the bumper design

Damn man that is really cool! I was just drawing up a design that I am thinking up for mine as we speak thanks to this! Do you by chance have a link at all or any info of what you used for your actuator? Sorry man I didn't even realize how much I have cluttered up this event! Thanks for all the info brother!

haha its all good. I love a good derailment. The actuator is a 2000 lbs unit from Progressive Automations. It was only a few hundo I think

Yeah dude we're just a bunch of friends who started wheeling and camping together back in 2013. We created the website on a whim (its not really up to date lol). We're a gang; kind of like the Crips. Except we go wheeling and camping instead of selling crack LOL

Speed: We like to cover a lot of territory on our trips so we can see a lot of places. Not recklessly bombing trails, but eating large mileage in a day.
Glampers: We go out of out of our way to be comfortable on the trail. Most of us have hot water systems, fridges, roof top tents, etc. We try to make delicious food and we share meals, fancy whiskey, etc.
Uberfahrt: German for cross over land or something to that effect. We like to camp in a different place each night so we can experience more of the area on each trip

The end of Sep we're going to Southern UT, Oct to Moab, Nov to Central AZ, Dec Death Valley/Mojove rd. Let me know if your interested in rolling with us on any of those trips. Like I said, the website isn't usually up to date. Feel free to blame @Papa Smurf

What's a good way to keep up to date with your guys adventure? We are neighbors and I don't think I've seen you around town before.

Yeah dude let's grab a beer sometime! Fri afternoon/eve works best for me. I don't drive my truck so that why you probably haven't seen me. I have a daily, the truck is strictly for dirt

I can add you to our slack group. We plan everything there. It can get a little noisy because we're always bullshittin, but that's where we pick destinations and dates. PM me your email address and I'll send you a link

I also try to post our trips in the regional forums here and Tundras.com and Tundratalk

Speaking of that, how is the Tundra community as a whole? I assume most are just grocery getters like me?

Most are grocery getters, some haulers, lot of mall crawlers lol

But the engine and drive train is rock solid so they make a great off road platform. Plus the LT kits are the cheapest way to get 16" travel. Only the Chevys can get more, 18", but way more expensive. Fords only get 16 and are stupid expensive

Hell yea man Im a proud "maller" member! I have thought about getting a dedicated first gen tundra or a T100 as a full out balls to the wall truck one day. Not to say I have any interest in selling my taco either though.

If its going to be "one day" then get a second gen tundra. Its a way better truck. The 1 gen is a good truck, but the 2nd was a HUGE improvement.
