Truck Camping Photo Thread

DAC truck tents (mid size)

 

I need to find a single person air mattress so I can leave the totes in the truck

And I still need to sort out a better mounting solution for my canopy. I want to be able to hang it off the back of the softopper to cover the tailgate. Only solution I can think of is a bed rack. I dont wanna spend the money because I wont use it other than camping.

Im able to mount my awning to the side of the truck using my roof rack and some unistrut.

Does anyone use an awning similar to this?



Im wondering how something like this holds up to wind just being attached with straps to the wheel wells?

The one I use is very similar with the X frame. Im wondering if I can modify the side that sits over the topper to sit snug.

I love it! I put it all n the rear of my tiger moth and it gives much more cover than an arb 1250. It's versitile with height adjustment and can even be pinned to the ground and used as a tent. It's light, compact, and sets up easily. I've had mine up in down pours and only had a few drops ( it was what we got from Harvey a lot of rain) I did have the wind turn it inside out once so I put a couple of tarp clamps on each side and ran paracord to a ground peg problem solved.



For $110 I'm tickled with it

 

oh probably should have mentioned, all trailer windows have 'reflectix' panels cut out to fit, I just slip them between the blinds and the windows, and they keep it both dark and cool inside. reflectix is this insulation stuff thats like silver bubble-wrap, sold in rolls at home improvement stores, etc. I also use a piece of reflectix as my windshield sun protector when parked facing the sun for any extended period.

Yeah Prewitt Rd, if you haven't been I'd advise you to go. It's gorgeous up there.

 

last I heard, you can only get there from the Hunter Liggett side, highway 1 is still closed to the north and south.

 

I've been a couple times. Thought I recognized that tree.

 

Yeah it's still closed. There is only a small section of Highway 1 that you can get to.

Now that the 110 degree weather is gone I think is time for Gorman. I wanna start jumping my truck again as I finally got it strapped in the front.
