Please OZ when its all done, or least almost done, take picture of everything. Both the gf and I say the white ceiling and went with a....why. Sure it will make sense in the grand scheme but looks out of place (to us!) in the nice natural wood a charred wood look of the outside

O i hear that. Would just love the over all pics when done. Still a few years from building the house but the gf and I have archived quite a few things you have shown so far.

All the interior finishing is paint grade , the natural wood is limited to the glulam rafters , roof decking and the different siding finishes

Yeah I added that to my list after seeing a few YouTube videos! I've seen those in stores and never knew what they were for.

It was 101F here yesterday, but I still wired up the controller/thermostat for the bathroom in-floor heating and turned it on for the first time. Happy everything worked (what a nightmare if it didn't). We're set for the cold winter (sometimes it gets down to 28F+/-, brrrr). Got the countertop guys coming in Saturday. Quartz for the vanity, shower window surround, shower niche, threshold and top of 1/2 wall. All that will be left is the glass shower door and installing the vent fan.

So we finally heard back from the inspector on the floor joists of the house im selling. I have a guy my realtor uses coming to fix 6 joists that have cracked and split completely through. Hes going to scab or sister on to all the joists except for one spot I think. Bid is 750 on the high end.

More than what I would want to pay on the job I could probably do for about 1/10th of the cost but it keeps the ball rolling and keeps everyone happy.... and I don't need to crawl around under the house for a day. At this point time is more than the money.

We built out around the fireplace today creating a 3 1/2" "chimney" step in the wall plane

"Chimney" area gets 24"x48" porcelain tiles stacked up to the ceiling , to the left and right we do the cascade of the 2x6 fir t&g decking from floor to ceiling

We'll start on that in the morning

    Pics?

I'd be careful with using a P/W to clean a vehicle. They can peel paint and push water in places it shouldn't be and impossible to get out.

Is the owner going to have remorse for not letting you re-frame the stairs now that everything else is looking so fit and finished?

No the dark pt goes around the whole large deck, so it's not as bad as it looks. The steps I added on the other end just two steps I did the ipe as the kick area and God it would have set those big steps off in a huge way

We didn't make as much progress today on our fireplace wall as I hoped , we struggled a bit with the material as some of it has dissimilar sizing and twist making keeping rows aligned a bit of a nightmare but I think we should be able to finish up tomorrow
