Amateur mistake .. didn't wait for the engine to cool completely. The stock pulley came off so much easier tho. Instructions said to let the engine cool overnight which I read afterwards .

But I think it would have bent anyways .. that particular pulley is aluminum.

If it's that sensitive to the engine heat, wouldn't it have warped anyway after being installed and running at operating temp? Crazy

No. Maybe you are not familiar with the changing
    procedure/shrink fitting.

I'm not sure what the 2.55 & 7th make by themselves. The headers/ypipe/exhaust do a lot to help it breathe. Pipes are all bigger, less kinks/bends and no cats. Adding the 7th and 2.55 would probably make power, but a restrictive exhaust the gains would obviously be less. It's all sort of a concerted effort 2.55 forces more air in, but if you have to be able to get the air out.

7th injector is 640cc but you can order it with an 800cc I believe. I can't remember what size the main six are.

Not sure about the 7th compatibility with the stock box. I'm sure there's a way you can rig it. The 7th adapter is 30mm thick and moves the throttle body to the passenger side 30mm.

That's about how my 2.85" pulley looked. The aftermarket pulleys fit tighter than the stock pulley does.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
Thanks for the responses, I'll have to think about the gains of the smaller pulley vs. time and cost and headache. I plan to get the Ucon and 2.825. Probably should stick with that and call it a day. But tempting to add the 7th and the additional cost of the 2.55. I have an AFE intake now, but plan on putting stock back on with a cowl intake location mod, to use the area by the fender (TRD sport) for a second battery. If I have the stock intake it seems troublesome to space out the throttle body by 30mm causing untold domino of alignment issues. Probably should talk to URD and I bet they've been down this path before and have advice... Maybe it's better to just TRD flash and be happy with the KISS mantra.

gonna have to lift up the hood and stare at the whole situation a bit. Hope I can come to some conclusion without analysis paralysis!

Bumping an old thread, trying to sell the SC on my FJ to you taco guys. Magnuson is telling me the resevior and bracket, pump, and intercooler is different. Can any of you guys take any pics of said components and possibly measure their dimensions so I can see how much of a difference there is.

    Thanks

If someone has to buy the fit kit to make the supercharger fit the Tacoma, the fit kit cost is about $2000. So take that into account when pricing your supercharger. It’s sort of makes buying a used supercharger not such a great deal if you have to buy the fit kit.

I was questioning not whether some one has to buy a complete fit kit but what the differences between the fj and Tacoma fit kit were, considering it's the same engine etc.

For future reference I just got a call back from Magnuson and the parts are about $600 to make the fj SC with fj fit kit work on the taco. Still curious to see pics with measurements on the parts I mentioned.

Where did you get 2k for the fit kit? Did some googling and finding more like 650..interesting that's what Magnuson told me it would be. I think I was spoofed by them again, I wish they actually had knowledgeable people working there. It is looking like the main difference is the intercooler, what those differences are I have no idea. Someone help a brother out and give me some pics

One guy “bought” a used blower. Missing a bunch of hardware. Called Mag. Quoted $2k.

Another guy. Was “thinking about buying” a used blower. Missing some parts. Called Mag. Quoted $2k. Decided not to buy the used blower.

This is what I was told by two different people. I didn’t call them myself. So obviously I don’t know first hand. But I have to wonder. It’s curious to me how two different people at two seperate time frames, got quoted the same $2000 if it was actually $700.

I’m glad I don’t need a fit kit. Sounds confusing.
