NE area wheeling trip plans

Theres a bunch up on ENH. I posted most of mine in the B's thread. I did he get too many as I was busy wrangling giblets. And most of mine aren't great as they were from behind the wheel since that's the only time I had free hands

Looks like it was a good time. Wish I could have made it. Haven't wheeled this season at all. Just logging roads up in NH. Looking forward to the fall crawl.

 

Yessir sliders and skids well ifs trans and Tcase still missing gas tank and rear diff

Gas tank should be fine. Rear diff is one of the most un-needed skids ever. Only thing that needs protecting is the back of the axle. The front/ bottom are beefy as shit already.

Better question is do you have a locker?

 

Negative on the locker I'm still open /open there definitely on the list though

You should be all set. You will use the skids and sliders, but you should be good to do the Moderate runs

 

Agreed. Just be ready to do a lot of "bumping" with no locker. Talk to Rob @mach1man001 , he's the master of no locker trail limo wheeling.

 

What are lockers ? lol We don't need no stiiiinkin' lockers (this is usually said by those without lockers btw, like me).

I can tell you that a winch does wonders if you have no lockers. I am regearing this fall and I am really on the fence about lockers. I love the added challenge of wheeling open/open and with my winch I can go just about anywhere. Tire placement to gain traction becomes critical in line choice, so thats fun. Also, you learn what momentum is really all about. When is too much, and when to do it.

BUT, and this is a big but, lockers would be so much more efficient.

 

Also, if I don't buy lockers, I can afford new driveshafts...right ROb!?!?!?

All DCLBs should come with one free driveshaft

 

I was gonna say something when I saw the picture that Seth posted but decided I had nothing good to say.

 

I like this idea. Even used they are not cheap!

 

I do plan on adding at least a rear locker when I re-gear I'm just going to get a pre built diff from ECGS. I would really like to lock the front too but I hear it may do more damage than good.

 

Any idea on what a used drive shaft for an Access cab goes for?

 

Is that where you got yours? I can easily see a dclb hitting the driveshaft there.
