More Ranger Raptor pictures

Pretty much a New Zealand Ford Ranger. Which took over the market cause the hilux kept putting a smaller Diesel in it. Tne Hilux is down to a 2.2L

Im really looking forward to seeing the what ford does to make the ranger marketable in the US. They cant have it with the same engine choices as the f150 or it will be cannibalizing sales. But I so hope they offer it with the 2.7EB access cab, maybe their raptor version at most.

2.7L 325hp @ 5k, 400tq @ 2750k, 21mpg combined. drop 1k lbs.

my question is, will this usher the Toyota engineers to truly make a TRD Pro with a high output high performance truck???

 

Just my opinion, but this thing looks a lot like the Colorado with how high the bedsides are in relation to the cab.. Not for me, but definitely cool to have some competition for the tacos now in the midsize range

I doubt it, unless they start to lose some market share...that being said, I'd buy one

If Ford brings in the real global Ranger and not a neutered version like Chevy did with the Colorado I might think about jumping ship. It would be full circle because the 1990s Ranger I had is what got me looking at Toyota. It was made terribly. Now the market has turned, the Ranger is beating the Hilux in markets like Australia. I don't mind the look of the global trucks, they aren't nearly as in your face as the Tacoma and they are built to be actual trucks still. What do I care about style, I end up with bumpers, sliders and a topper on a plain white truck anyway.

I see that. I've thought the Hilux has always been a plain looking truck, it is what it is.

Underneath the Hilux and Ridgeline couldn't be more different. The Hilux is a fully boxed ladder frame and in some configurations is rated 6,600 lbs GVWR and 2,700 lbs payload (based on a 3,000 kg GVWR and 1,775 kg curb weight). The best a Tacoma can do is like 1,600 lbs in 2WD, stripped.

Even in the highest configuration, SR5, 4 door, 4wd, the GVWR is still 3,000 kg with a curb weight of 2,075 kg, which works out to a payload of 925 kg or 2,039 lbs. That blows away our Tacoma which end up around 1,200 or less payload in the TRD levels.

New cars and truck are all starting to look a little alike to me, probably because of MPG requirements and getting them to have less air drag.

Anyway, the Ranger looks OK to me once it's got some stuff fitted.

 

Holy crap, those bumper lights look like they put out a massive amt of lumens. That's a lot of LEDs!

 

I'm right there with you. I can't tell which mid size suv is which. I guess Nissan wanted to break that trend by creating the worlds ugliest vehicle

 

The headlight is the same size as the passenger window.
