I can check to see if Area 51 is available for camping. Last time I was out there to camp (just after Memorial) day we were not allowed to since "something happened" down there the weekend prior. They have re-graded all the park roads so even @ChadsPride could make it down there if he's so inclined to :)

To note: Area 51 means no easy access to showers/restrooms that are at Area B. We usually try to camp down there but I could be swayed otherwise.

HF Saturday, then camp, then CnC/TnT? Could Wheel HF, then camp at LVPOA, or camp HF.

I'd prefer to not camp at HF. Especially, since I wouldn't be wheeling the second day

I’m in +1. I just snagged the last vacation slot for that Saturday so I’ll be off all weekend.

For a night or 2, not an issue to me :)

This sounds pretty great to me! HF on Saturday works. Camping there or near by also works. :)

    WOOT!

I've emailed about Area 51. We'll see what Brett at HF says.

We'll be out there on Friday, hopefully before lunchtime.

I can save room if people want to camp out there on Friday and/or Saturday, otherwise, see you on the trails. I realize we have a few more weeks (and hundreds of posts) to discuss this...

Someone cut one of the trees down at Area 51 with a chainsaw apparently and that's why there was no camping. If we go we will probably get a cabin if possible or camp closer to the bathrooms.

Yeah that was last year and we were the group to camp down there just after that happened. Cut with a chainsaw a ways from Area 51 and dragged back to the fire pit, leaving a huge rut down the dirt trail.

One of the rangers was down there cutting the tree for firewood (they sell it) when we showed up. I talked to him for a while and he gave me all the details. Apparently it turned into an argument between the group (Toyota Dallas guys) and Rangers and then almost into a fist fight. Seemingly something similar happened again this year. Boss man got tired of "no accountability" in Area 51. We'll see what they say now...

If I get a proper head count in soon enough, I can reserve spots at the LVPOA camp ground. Lake front, $5 per spot, with I think 2 primitive camps per spot. This way I can get @T4Rgurl out to HF, and camp close to home for her, and has adequate facilities as well. @Misplaced Nebraskan , how's your schedule looking?

Totally forgot I have ACL tickets for 10/7... one day pass. I can still make CnC/TnT on 10/8, but I wont be able to camp or wheel that weekend.

Damn, there really is alot going on that weekend too. Maybe we should do something later in Oct so that we have more time to plan and get a head count.

Had this marked on the calendar for awhile.

The last one was a lot of fun and it was awesome seeing so many Toyotas bombing down the beach.

Pretty sure we'll be going to this one as long as nothing crazy happens between now and then.

@Tynan @TX-TACO and I were the second or third group to get to the cut.

    #NonStopBombingRun

It was fun chasing the Pro T4R and the LT guys, and yeah, is awesome to see.

Hopefully this trip there's fewer casualties / split open sidewalls / forcibly removed undercarriages.

And.... Here's to hoping that it's a tiny little bit less windy this time.
