    I had my dealer turn it off on my 2015. They didn't want to do it, but I had it in writing as part of the sale paperwork and would not sign the final paperwork until they proved to me that they turned it OFF.

    This one worked for my 2011, but the previous way did not:

    hey guys there was a thread disusing this a while back. I know it works on 2nd gens. I've copied the instructions

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

    Is this seatbelt chime the same as the door chime when you have your door open? I sure would like to get rid of that, I like to play my radio with the door open when I'm cleaning, and that chime drives me apeshit. :goingcrazy:

    i find it hard to believe that nobody on this sight that has a 2015 has not disabled their door chime.... i dont see why there hasn't been a single person on here with a 2015 that has commented on this entire thread :annoyed::boom:

    See my post above, I have a 2015 with the chime disabled. The only way to disable a 2012 through 2015 is to have Toyota service disable it with their computer hooked up to it. The procedure provided by @grichg only works for 2005 through most of the 2011's.

    You could rip apart the dash and physically remove the chime as well.

    I've got a '15 and have had zero luck trying to get rid of the chime. Dealer refuses to do it. Bought an ODBII and the Carista app, but that will not let you customize anything (FFS WHY?). I think Techstream is the only way.
