I purchased the OME carrier bearing drop kit (FK29) and tried to install it this morning without any luck. The M10 bolt that came with the kit wouldn’t thread into the spot weld nut on the factory frame. The stock nut has a tapered end which makes it easier to thread. Is anyone else having this issue? I have a 3rd gen but I don’t think that matters. I was thinking about getting another bolt from the auto part store and see if i have better luck. Or does anyone know where i can get a M10 bolt similar to the stock one with the tapered ends? I might also be dumb and don’t know how to screw in a bolt right lol.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the input. I’ll try it again over the weekend.

Easy way to tell if they're the same size bolt is take the old one out and line up the new bolt to the old one in such a way that the threads should line up to each other in a zipper pattern. If they don't it's likely you somehow go the wrong size bolt.
