Sounds like a cool gang and with a good looking website. My only question is....who owns this impostor truck named Papa Smurf? I need to shake his hand for having the same truck name as me!

Dude! Sorry we missed you! I turned my cell phone off on Thu and I didn't turn it on again until yesterday lol

We have to plan a day trip together, I ripped up my fuel tank skid and I had to leave it hidden in the desert. I need to go back and retrieve it

I'll do a pic dump in the next day or two. We had a blast! The LR4 lost a sensor on the last day and the whole air suspension dumped to the bump stops. I had my ARB compressor take a dump on me, my RTT rack switch lost one side of the circuit, I lost my gas tank skid, and my front hub started squealing. Thats a record number of failures for me lol

We covered over 200 miles over 3 days, all dirt.

It's not as bad as I thought. The wheel squealing was a rock caught between the dust shield and brake rotor. The compressor failure was self induced, I wash my bed down and the relays don't like to get wet. Simple to replace the relays. RTT rack circuit was a wire that came loose. Skid plate was just a bad design, there really isn't any good options out there for skids. Anyways, The Truck is all patched up and ready for southern UT next week!

Sounds good man, I was gonna say your truck seems to be too well designed for this many inconsistencies on the fly. How did the gas tank skid fall off you think...vibration?

Its only held on in 4 spots. The two rear mounts are studs from the gas tank strap. The nuts get ripped off on rocks. I only had one bent stud holding it on in the rear. The drivers side mount is a bolt on the bottom of the frame rail. I ripped that off on rocks so that side was hanging. The passenger side mount uses one of the carrier bearing bolts. Because it was hanging, I was afraid of getting it caught and ripping apart the carrier bearing so I removed it at camp.

I need to have a fully custom skid properly fabricated

Ah ok...I think Pelfrey makes their skid where it has raised guards around their gas tank bolt areas to prevent the tearing that you describe. I might have to look into that.

Yeah I'll have to look at pelfrey and the others again. I bought a full set of budbuilt and all of the skids are great except for the tank

I looked at pelfrey and I think they have some raised notches on the skid, but it seems that it bolts onto the front end before the gas tank which I like better.
