00000IMG_00000_BURST20181117123636317_COVER.jpg Hi everyone. Long time tacoma owner. This past week I parted ways with my beloved second gen DCSB auto to make room for a new 2017 DCSB OR MT.

My main reason for the switch is to get back into an MT, and also start with a zero mile vehicle that I intend to hold onto for a very long time.

    Cheers
    Max.

Starting with the small things to make the new rig feel a little more mine.

Tailgate decals from importequipment. Reflective black. The decals are well made. Not disappointed for the value. Was concerned about applying them, but the material is fairly rigid and they went on with ease. One car wash down and edges held up just fine. The reflection when hit with light is enough to illuminate them without being obnoxious or distracting.

    Cheers,
    Max

Nice looking 2gen! why not swap those Generals and SCS's onto the 3gen?
Thats the exact wheel I want and I almost bought the General grabbers, nice looking tire for a good price.

Good luck with the new truck!

Thanks! Might end up getting some RAY10. Want to go with a larger tire after this gets lifted. I got my money back when I sold the truck with the wheels . The general grabbers are a nice tire.

Whoever bought it got lucky with the wheels!! Ray 10's are nice but I keep coming back to these. IF SCS ever does a limited run of copper SR8's I'll jump on those ASAP

Love the look of the grabbers. Nice tread.

Progress so far. Prinsu rack installed. Kayak racks installed. Not much to explain. Here's the progression through pictures.

A bit of bounce when closed because of the raised sides. The J's still lock close. In the weeks to follow I'll fabricate a bottom piece to fit the contour of the aero bottom of the J and the flat top of the extrusion.

    Progress.

    Rack 20170726_172614.jpg
    Tent 20170726_172551.jpg 20170726_201218.jpg 20170726_201342.jpg

Very pleased with everything. Tepui did short me some washers which was inconvenient, but oh well. Also, the tracks that mount to the underside of the tent were not deburred. Inexcusable in my opinion. Finish the job when making your product. Aside from that it seems to be a very nice tent and we are very excited to use it.

Did you leave the gutter moulding trim off with the Prinsu?

No, I drilled holes with mine. I'd suggest using a punch instead if you're going to leave them in.

Side note on the Tepui tent. Not a big deal, but I'll be pulling this off and putting a better weld on it this winter. Just looks shitty for a set up that was as expensive as it was.

    20170726_192426.jpg

Also wasn't stoked at the mass amount of metal shaving imbeded into the mattress when we got it. I'm assuming it's from when they drilled through the sheet. Outside of that I'd say we are still happy with the product overall. Just seems Tepui is a bit lazy.

Took one of my favorite trips this weekend. Even with an upper respiratory infection. The lady had to work this weekend so I flew solo. Took things slow because this rig still has no armor on the underside. Overall it was a nice putting and I've been in a vegetable state since then.

Testing the Go pro. Ignore the clanking.

Welp. The lady and I took off up north for the weekend. Wasn't sure how it was going to go to be honest. Strained my shoulder/neck on Thursday something bad. We were already committed to the trip though.

The camp ground was nice. Friendly folk as always in NH. Had ourselves a cozy little lot that was 2 minutes walk away from the waterfront. Dropped of the kayaks and left them right there all weekend when they weren't in use.

Got out on the water at 5am one morning. Fog didn't lift til the better half of 7am. The water was still warm for being above the White Mountains. Didn't hook anything til 8:45ish, 3 miles from the launch. Told the better half Id be back by 9. I ended up being late. Was a tough bite out there but we figured it out.

    Weather: High 60s, Low H30s.
    Location: North of Berlin, NH
    Beer drank: Not enough

Escaped to White lake for a Friday night. Aubrey booked it down a trail. Somewhere out there. She's got a headlamp. I'm sure she'll be fine. 20170915_204251.jpg 20170915_204025.jpg 20170915_204301.jpg 20170915_204356.jpg 20170915_204507.jpg

Small weekend get away up north. Took the new Durstracs on some aggressive washboards that lasted about 6 miles followed by sand. So far so good.

If you zoom in on the selfie, you can see the black flies were out in full force. But beat the leaf peepers.
