IMG_7122.jpg IMG_7121.jpg my front wheels stick a good inch farther than my rears. i was looking around online and sources have said it might be from my lift? any input on that?

i did purchase this truck used about half a year ago, so i'm not sure what lift was done.

i only run 265/70/17's and the tires were rubbing like crazy until i trimmed a bunch of plastic out of my inner fender (doesn't rub on the plastic anymore). i'm also rubbing the cab mount right before full-lock. the wheels are 17x8 with a 4.5in backspace. why am i rubbing this much? i can't even imagine taking my truck off-road with the rubbing.

Unless you have spacers on the front I'd say normal -- my front wheels look like they track slightly wider than the rears too or its something to do with the fender flares, not sure which.

Nah, I don't think that's normal. Since you bought it, have you taken the wheels off? You may have spacers on the front but not the rear. The other thing it could be is from aftermarket spindles. OP are you 2WD?

    A thing or two...
Spindles or spacers was my first thought. @can0nfan2379 pull off one of the front tires a post a picture of the suspension.

    i'm 4x4.

i was thinking spindles as well. i tried looking for spacers without taking the wheels off but couldn't see any mounted. i'm sure it's just the spindles pushing them out.

Aftermarket spindles are used on 2wd, and push it out 0.75", so I don't think that's the case with you. My best guess is there are spacers hiding back there.

I have spacers on my front wheels to keep the insides of the rims from touching the brake calipers. You might have something similar.

oh okay, thank you for that clarification.

this is a possibility, but when i bought this taco it did have stock sport rims, so i'm not thinking it has spacers. doesn't hurt to try and see if there are though. i got these aftermarket wheels mounted about 2 weeks ago.

here's a few photos of the suspension. how do i look for spacers? if i'm not mistaken, they should be between the rotor and the back of the wheel, right?

Yeah, it'd be really obvious like this. If you don't have spacers, then I'm at a loss of what the heck is happening.

The spacer is on the center of the disc, hard to see with the wheels on...

You're a braver man than I. Are you running extended thread lugs to grab more threads? On my truck it barely seems to grab enough, even without that spacer.

i appreciate your time into helping me out. btw, if this is your truck, sweet brakes.

man, i didn't want to have to take my wheel off. today's my day for homework! but i'll definitely pop one of these bad boy's off and see if there's a spacer.

but if there's no spacer, what next?

You're welcome! Not my truck, just some random Google image.
Oh god, you may have to sell your truck!

In reality though, the next step would be to take off a front and rear tire (don't get them mixed up) and measure some stuff. Maybe you got the same wheel with different specs somehow? Super unlikely, but maybe.

i was thinking about different specs also, but i noticed the stock rims did the same thing, albeit they were 17x7.5, 5.5 backspace so they didn't stick out as much.
