Lugs just snapped, I'm on the side of the road jacking up truck, it is on rear passenger axle...

I'm about 15 minute's outide of a decent size town here in nv called Fernley...

Without having time to research, can I fix this roadside? Will O'Reilly or the like have the lug studs?

EDIT: Was able to fix roadside using 3 studs from other axle. See post #60 for picture

    Lug nuts broke?

    Or the lug studs?

If they all broke something else is likely wrong!

There should be a shop in town that has them, if O'Reilly doesn't they'll know where to go

    Reserected from the dead.
If you can get the drums off, rob 3 from the other side. You will need a punch to drive out the broke bolts.

The bolts on the good side can be driven out after you put a lug nut on to protect the threads. Hit the nut with a hammer and they should pop out.

Studs broke... taking 3 from the other side is good advice! Luckily have 4g service so might just call an uber into town and pick some up...

Local shops should have some. Make a couple calls to the nearest ones to see about whether they have any in stock. It's a fairly easy repair to replace the studs. That's a pretty big red flag that they all sheared. Most common reason for it is if someone doesn't use their hands to get the lug nuts hand tight first, then going on to an impact to finish. They'll start the threads with the impact and it'll cross thread and can lead to the stud shearing if they really went at it. That's pretty crazy for them all to go. I hope you get it fixed safely and without too many shenanigans.

I picked up a bunch from a jacks auto parts store once. I was shocked they had them in stock(and so many).

I actually just put this entire rear end in about 2 months ago ( it was a used axle)...

Probably just going to have it towed... only have 1 jack and its dark out now. If I was by myself I would just take care of it here but I'm with the girlfriend and 2 dogs

Waiting on tow truck... 370$ worth it to just fix it in my garage...

Side note, is it customary to tip tow truck drivers?
