Good afternoon bro. Awesome build so far. I'm slowly getting there lol. I have a question for you...Did you have a lot of issues fitting and or installing the McNeil fenders? I'm about to pull the trigger on their 2" fenders. Thanks.

Do you rub like crazy off-road without the cut fenders?

Thanks dude! Slowly but surely is the best way to do it  The McNeil +2 is a quality product. I didn't have issues at all installing/fitting. I will advise that you install them and fit them properly before painting, though. Also, if I were to do it over, I'd paint the fenders unmounted just because it was a pain to have to go back in some crevices and do touch up.

Install, test fit, adjust, remove, paint, install.

None of my fenders are cut. I installed the McNeil +2 fenders up front to get more clearance. I still rub on the Cab Mount (even though it's chopped) from the 35 tires. Depending on the lift you have, having 35 tires with unmodified fenders will surely rub like crazy.

Oh duh! I totally glossed over the wider front fenders. How bad do you rub on the cab mount? Could it be chopped back more? How's the stock gears with 35's in your opinion?

My cab mounts rub everytime I'm full lock, going forward and reverse. Fortunately, it only hits a small part of the mount so cleaning them up will help a lot.

My gears are something I'll do next. I do road trips more than anything so I don't want to go above 4.56. I'll prob go with ecgs.

Gotcha. I need to do some research into gears for this vehicle. I want to run 35's and I too won't something that I'll be able to do road trips with and won't keep me too high in the RPM.

I'll let you know how the gears turn out, most likely do it in Aug.

May i ask, why did you go to the RTT rack from the camper shell? I just sold my rack and am in the market for a camper shell to create additional secure dry storage for gear on road trips and im just curious on your direction? My RTT rack was about 90# +/- and the camper shell will be heavier no doubt.

My camper shell was great, it provided good storage and lots of flexibility for camping trips. My biggest concern with it was the amount of weight it was sustaining, and I didn't feel 100% confident when going off roading to places like Moab or Ouray. I wanted to lower the center of gravity and have a more secure system for the rtt. Bolting the rtt to a rack that's bolted to fiberglass is much different than bolting the rtt to steel.

I'm a big fan of functionality, and both have their uses. For me, I found the bed rack had more to offer. I saved a lot of weight, can still store all of my gear, and my tent is better secured. For what it's worth, I still have the shell in storage and I'll mix it up on occasion.
