    Hey world of tacos,

So I'm ready to sell my hand me down truck that belonged to my grandfather and have no idea how much it would be worth. Kelly blue book says 4-5k while similar Craigslist ads tell me I could get a hell of a lot more. I know this years model is a popular one, I'm just unfamiliar with pricing a 24 year old "like new" vehicle like this.

It's a like new 93' SR5 xtracab with only 38,000 miles. No dents, perfect paint, clean inside and out. The engine is clean as a whistle. It's Manual, 4x4, V6, original everything. Comes with matching silver camper shell.

    Thanks for any advice!!

I think the slight rust is ok. The real con here is the 3.0L.

Due to power or because they're known to have issues?

    Thanks!

    Both.
They are called 3.slow for a reason. 4cyl power with a V6 thirst.
If I recall, exhaust runs behind the motor behind the heads causing head gasket failures. I mostly remember it was a pain to work on. I'd much rather have the 22RE than the 3.0.

I have seen some motors make it to 250K without issues. Ours was not so lucky. HG issues at around 60K miles and again at 100K miles. After that, we got rid of it. If you look in craiglist, plenty of 4Runners and trucks that are being sold with HG issues.

Gotcha gotcha. Based on your experience with owning one and maybe understanding the demand for them, what is you opinion on a sell price for it?

    Tahoe you say? :spy:

That rig is CLEAN! That rust is just surface rust, probably one of the cleanest Toyota frames I've seen, especially given the age. PM me once you figure out a price.

The demand is still high for this truck being a 4x4 and practically rust free. Original CA truck? You'd probably get more if you have maintenance record or some kind of paper trail showing mileage. If it was mine, I'd price it at $8K to see what kind of feedback you get and take no lower than $6K. Someone will buy it.

I recommend not selling it. In 15-20 years it will be considered a classic, will be worth alot specially in that shape. But if you really need to sell it ask for 7K let them talk you down 6 or even 5.5 but no less then 5.5.

I buy, replace the heads/gaskets and flip quite a few 3.0 trucks, and that truck is worth $4k if you have no proof of HG recall being done. Call Toyota and give them the vin and see if it was done. If it was, then i would ask $6k but expect $5k. Even non toyota people know about that motor, ehich can make it very hard to sell.
