Dealership is keeping my truck , waiting to hear back from Corp. Toyota???

When does said clunking occur? When turning? When hitting the brakes in reverse?

 

I get the clunking sound when I articulate the suspension , so over speed bumps oh like ruts in my driveway or pot holes or hard left or right turns.

 

Hmm I wonder if you got bad ball joints. I had a strange clucking sound on a ram 2500.Mechanic lifted up the front end and put a pry bar under the tires and pushed down and replicated the clucking sounds. They were beyond toast. Replaced them and it was gone.

 

dang that sucks the dealer won't take care of you.

My salesmen let me borrow his truck to go to lunch while my wife and I were in getting an oil change. (we have bought 5+ cars from him)

 

So called dealership, tech got on the phone told me the clunking metal on metal sound was the plastic connector for my LED lights. I told him the clunk, was since day 1 ... He then told me he test drove a new Tacoma and it drove and made the same noise on hard bumps. So I was kind of bummed. So called another dealership they told me not waste my time with them getting a second opinion and to just call Toyota Corp. so I did,,,, they called me back and acted like the highlight of his day was talking to me. Just way over the top with gussshhyyyy customer service. So took truck to ORW they charged me an hr of diagnostic and said they found a loose bumper reinforcement bar bolt....SO who knows. I drove truck today and didn't really hear the clunk so,,,Did ORW find and fix the problem, I will find out this week and let you all know. Thanks Toyota owners for the support. My next option is a lift kit,,,,,,or maybe just a lift kit anyway,,,,

 

agreed...both dealerships suck and are notorious liars....document work and don't do it or do work and don't tell you....really having trouble with Tustin now on diff problem.....was told today that I had to use the same service advisor who fucked up the diff recall....i will go in on tuesday and see what happens...I am going to see what they say...I will have pictures in hand and last invoice.....if my truck was properly fixed by torquing the bolts and adding the unauthorized RTV and it was safe to drive home then, then if weeping is seen, they can order parts and I will drive home and wait for call.......at this point i will call corporate and ask for longer warranty.....stealership said today already i have 50k and 48month warranty, that i do not need anything else......we'll see.....what a bunch of complete morons and idiots.......I am glad I did not have these guys working on my aircraft when I was flying

 

How did they charge you diag for a truck i'm assuming is under warranty?

 

Off Road Warehouse charged me for the one hr of diagnostics, went down some trails today heard clunking again but not as much, so Ill be calling Toyota Corp back to schedule something.

Had a dried out bushing creaking like crazy they tell me after 8 hours it's my Gd bump stop
They are a bunch of morons

 

Have a similar sound. Anytime I take it to Toyota they mention it'll be 90 bucks if I've caused it. Scares me out of having them even look at it because I do have slightly larger tires and a heavier front bumper. But I'm gonna check the body mount.

 

Did you find anything more out with the front end by chance.. I just created this thread, I have a link to a youtube vid I took.
