But, you are ok with compromising the integrity of the skid by cutting your brand logo into it?

 

A large door big enough to pull the oil filter through plus a hand would most certainly cause a weak spot in the skid. There is a large difference in the amount of material lost between the small brand and that size of a hole. Not to include the difference in location on the skid as well to determine the strength of the skid around where the hole or brand is cut.

 

@GDT just cut the hole yourself if you want a hole.

 

I don't. My point was that I'd rather not have ANY unnecessary holes, and that the logo does make the skid weaker, even I feel just by a little bit.

 

Whats the legit wait time for a IFS and Sliders..... asking for a friend...

I wish I pulled the trigger on some skids and a rear high clearance bumper during the moving and Labor Day sales...oh well, at least my wallet is happy for now.

I just got my aluminum IFS skid in the mail today. I'm debating leaving it bare, but I don't want the aluminum to get all corroded. Any advice?

 

its not going to get corroded, leave bare if you like it that way

 

As said above, maybe a clear coat on it to keep the color from tarnishing over time, but aluminum does not oxidize in the way steel does so you shouldn't have any issues!
