I thought with spacers I wouldn't have to do the cmc.

I have 285/70/17 on a 17x8.5 -6 offset wheel. No cmc needed just slight plastic for driver side. Tool a heat gun and folded some parts, no big deal. Just my experience.

I was really really close to bringing it because of the 4x4 theme. But im not the biggest fan on bringing a bone stock vehicle to Cars and Coffee for whatever reason. Kind of wish i did though...

In the process of a headlight retrofit. Until I make a thread bout it, I will document it here. Once I'm finally done and installed, I will make a thread.

    New aftermarket headlights

Box of retrofit stuff. All Morimoto brand. Mini D2S 4.0 projectors with etched lenses, panamera shrouds, LED demon eyes, LED Halo for back-lighting the shrouds, Bluetooth controller for all the LEDs

First attempt at baking the light was disastrous

I found an OEM set of lights and then followed a procedure that @Blackout14 suggested which worked great.

After I got all the parts out, I took the chrome pieces to work (easier to do this there) and cleaned all the chrome off with some kind of oven cleaner. Shit works like magic. Under the chrome was actually pretty shiny still. I did NOT scratch or scuff the surface before painting. We'll see how it goes.

Here is the first coat of paint. It's a paint and primer in one. got it from Lowe's. It's satin black by (I think) Valspar

    Second coat of paint.

I started trimming my projector shrouds today. what a pain in the ass! I am using a dremel with a cut off disc to cut most of the material I need out of there. Then I'm hitting it with a sanding attachment. I only got one shroud trimmed in about an hour, maybe 1.5 hours. It's not even fully finished. It ALMOST clips on to the projector at this point.

    Lessons I learned today:
    1. Don't bother painting any of the reflectors or shrouds until AFTER you trim the shroud. All the in and out of test fitting WILL scratch the paint. I will now have to DE-paint, then repaint! :D
    2. When trimming with the dremel, wear eye protection. I got plastic in the eye.
    3. When trimming with the dremel, don't get your shirt caught in the cut off wheel.
    4. When your done painting, make sure the parts are 100% dry before packing them in a box for transport. I'm doing this retrofit mostly at work, so I have been keeping the pieces in a box in my truck. Even though I wrapped in bubble wrap, I will have some small spots that I don't like and will have to touch up.
    5. The headlight reflector bowls have a lot of areas that you'll need to trim around. theres a bunch of ridges and what not. It would be nice to scribe the shroud, but I didn't have anything to do that with. I also don't know how well I COULD have scribed it since its pretty tight in there with the projector and the shroud.

    Lessons I learned yesterday:
    1. Oven cleaner stinks pretty bad and it actually pretty greasy when dry. I had to wipe the parts with windex before painting. Also, don't step on the cleaner. It's slippery. I sprayed the parts on the ground on top of a piece of cardboard. Almost broke my ass slipping on it. Use gloves. Do it outside.
    2. There's little tabs on the back of the reflector bowl. everyone says to grind it. I honestly did not see a reson to do so, other than to get my fingers around the locknut for the projector. I could still tighten it with the tabs there, but I ground it down just because that's what I've seen done. The bowls are some tough plastic or maybe fiberglass. I used a full face shield when doing this. it gets very dusty and you'll be cleaning white powder out of places you didn't think it would get.

how did the high beams go out? The way I see it, at least on the Mini D2S 4.0, it has one bulb with one function. for high beam, it has a small lever that moves up and down to either hide or reveal more of the bulb for high beam low beam. wouldn't that just be a simple fix? like changing the bulb?
