This was custom made by myself to fit in my 05 access cab, it basically looks like the center console extends to the rear wall. It's 3/4" mdf wood all around, screwed with drywall screws every few inches, wood glue on all the joints, caulking on every seam. This thing could hold your truck up! The upholstery was done by a local family-owned outfit. It has 1/4" high density foam on the sides and top. The sides are black vinyl, the top and front face are tan and match the factory interior pretty damn well.

The subwoofer itself is down firing and sits about 1.5" off the floor which leaves plenty of room for X-Max when you're pushing it loud. I made this to fit the Kicker 8" L7 baby square sub, and it sounds great with about 450 watts RMS feeding it. The sub I had in this broke and is not included, you will need to replace it with another one. Amazon has this sub for about $130, very affordable.

I'm asking $40 for the box, local sales only as this would be a nightmare to ship. I'm in the Los Angeles/OC area (90703) and am willing to drive 20ish miles to meet up.

Still for sale. With all the access cabs out there this should be long gone!

I wanted to do a 12 but just couldn't make it fit without getting exotic with fiberglass on the shape. Even my 10 in the new box is a very tight fit, less than 1/2" clearance around some edges. I think a 12 would need to go behind the seat where there's more space, or built up higher with the cone facing straight up, but then its too wide for both front seats to recline simultaneously. Its a tricky spot that requires some compromises.

How difficult is it to slide the box into its spot and how stable is it once in place?

It takes just the right angle to slide in. With a subwoofer installed the weight is a bit much, but I'd say the average male under 70 years old could manage it. Once its in place the only thing it can do is move side to side. In the 3 years i had it it never moved more than half an inch. With the seats slid back the hinge will overlap the box & keep it in place (if you have your seat that far back like me it's perfect). Tough to explain but crystal clear after 2 minutes in person.

Dropped to $40, the box is inching closer to the dumpster.
