With new dongles the read button won't be active until the dongle has been registered, plug it into the truck, send Mat the serial and he'll get you back they registration key. He did this extremely quickly for me.

Yes, my truck is 'on', but not running. All accessories are off.

To the best of my ability, I'm doing what those instruction indicate, though they are frequently confusing. In my post # 6337 I quote from those instructions at the point where I am at a dead end.

Hey all!

I decided to join this forum at the same time I uploaded this tune, and decided to keep the Tacoma. As background, I have a 2017 DCSB Sport, with 265/75 tires on 16" SCS F5's, and Bilstein 5100's all around and some other little mods. This tune has made a huge difference in my satisfaction with the truck. Full disclosure, I am coming from an IS350, and just about all of the miles on the truck are with the ECT button on, so I am not one of the people looking for better gas mileage.

My daily commute is about 38 miles each way, about half of which is hilly back roads, and the other half highway. After several hundred miles with 1.02B, I am happy to say that not only am I super happy with the performance of the truck, I have actually improved my MPG as well! The pedal is much more responsive on the back roads portion, and I feel like merging and changing lanes on the highway have become easier. I have not had any of the tunes prior to 1.02B, so I don't know how it compares to those, but compared to the stock tune, it is a home run and definitely worth the money. I have not experienced any of the down sides that others have experienced, but I do not have any performance upgrades as of yet, although I plan to regear soon.

Long story short, I look forward to learning more from everyone on the forum, and this tune is awesome!

 

@OVTune As the Atkinson cycle is done by the intake valve, does you changing the intake valve make any difference to this?

Sorry I didn’t add the dongle setup / reading of the ECU data. I might try to add that!
