I recently got a 2009 Tacoma and the two silver peices on either side of the radio are scratched and don't match the other silver on the dash. I was wondering if there was any way to order new ones. It's not to big of an issue I would just like it to look nice.IMG_6532.jpg

The part you are looking for is typically called a radio surround. It's all 1 piece. Search the 2nd gen marketplace for those words. You will find a few old posts where people say they have one. Some people swap it out for black. Make sure you get the correct year range. When you swap it out, make sure you remove the gauge trim panel first.

No, they're not. Not without changing some other stuff too.

Yes , if you upgrade the surround, then you can use the newer radio bezel. Upgrade was the key word there

And you need the 4wd switch. And there's no place for the switch for the pass air bag shut off switch if the OPs truck has it.

I just removed the radio, then the side panels, then used the rattlecan paint I got from Automotivetouchup.com, some masking tape to mask off what I didn't want painted, and sprayed. A little time consuming, but I think it looks pretty cool. Did the console first...

Any sanding? Also, is the paint a primer and base?

I scuffed the surface a bit but no real major sanding required. Also, the rattlecan set of color matched paint that I got from Automotivetouchup includes a can of primer and a can of clearcoat if the original color had it. The 3L5 Radiant Red needed the clearcoat.

Not a big fan of red, but that looks really good. It ties in nicely with the exterior, and looks factory.

It is truely amazing to me how fast people trash their vehicles. What the hell are people doing to wear off the paint on the dash??

    Bothers me.

Try to find a good one on ebay or paint it.
