Looking to swap out my factory bulbs with maybe an HID kit or just some new bulbs. The yellowish dim light at night is terrible even with high beams on its not the greatest either. Some product/brand suggestions would be great.

Also looking to swap out my stock antenna for a shorty. Found a couple shorty tacoma replacements on Amazon for like $20. Worth it?

55watt 5000k H4-4 true dual HID kit. They are the ONLY real hi and lo beam kits for these trucks. Kits cost a good $200-$250 but well worth it! Anything else you will be let down.

H4-4 bulbs have 2 HID filaments on each buld. Therefore, you will have a total of 4 ballasts.

5000K is pure white light. I have posts with pictures somewhere on the forum.

I don't think I need a hi lo setup. Just a lo beam would be fine. Really didn't want to spend that kind of money. I know you get what you pay for but I'm bud looking to upgrade my lighting. Also, my lights only point out maybe 30 or 40' in front of my truck. Seems like there isn't much or any adjustment to make.

Shorty antennaes suck if you want to actually pick up receptions, especially if you are in rural areas.

Nope, they are free of any haze or fade. My passenger side builds up condensation after a rain. A leak somewhere.

I heard of guys putting Jetta antennas on or maybe another car antenna. Smaller but still great reception

A few mods here and there and counting....
For the headlights, either you upgrade the wiring and switch to better h4 bulbs or full HID retrofit. Please refrain from installing plug and play HIDs in your factory housings. You will get nothing but scattered lighting and not to mention, blinding others.

My truck came with a TRD stubby antenna, it works fine and gets just as good of reception as my other vehicles with standard antennas.

It sounds like what will work for you are some Sylvania SilverStar Ultra bulbs. 9003. They're brighter than stock and like $40 for a pair.

If you are going to go with just regular bulbs I don't recommend the Sylvania Silverstar"ZXE". They look like they might be nice and white but honestly I hardly noticed any difference between them and the standard base line ones that were in the truck. Still yellow and still cant see. Not worth it..

I cant speak to the Sylvania Silverstar "Ultra" as suggested above.

    Wait for it...
I've been looking for a shorty antenna myself. I'd rather not have one visible at all since I only listen to the radio for the 30 minute drive in the morning. Currently I took the stock one off. I'll be watching to see what you find because the "universal" options I've tried from the local parts stores didn't have a long enough thread.
