If you didn't think they were a governing body just let your LB or CB hit someone in the head.

He is also a part of a union that protects his rights. The company he works for may not like it, but for them to change it they have to go against a union that represents an entertainment entity that could cause money loss.

The family of Aaron Hernandez is suing the Patriots and the NFL for the stage 3 CTE he had when he died. I am on the fence about this one. Who determines how much damage was done before he reached the pros and how much damage was done during his short pro career?

A few additions to make me feel cool.
It should not matter how much "damage" he had. He was paid to take that chance and play the game. He could have walked away at any point. This is a getto family that lost there meal ticket and somehow thinks they are victims or entitled to something. He was a thug who was out of the league and killed at least one person, not because he had brain damage but because he was a horrible person with a drug problem and no respect for anyone or anything other than himself. The NFL should not be responsible for the health of players who are payed millions to entertain us and choose to do so willingly.

I don't understand the whole "brain functioned like that of a 67 year old."

So what, the regular thought process for a 67 year old is to kill somebody than commit suicide after being caught?

It wasn't that his brain functioned like a 67 year old's it was that the stage III CTE in his brain was what is expected in a retired NFL played at or around 67 years old.

Perhaps his drug problem and the PCP he was smoking had a hand in his susposed brain damage.
