Thanks Bro, last questions. Did you have to do any cutting to fit the regular CBI bumper or just the HC one? On the regular one, does the camera still have a usable view?

No cutting on the regular cbi bumper.... it's direct bolt on... if you have a swing out you won't have a camera lol... you'll have to reroute one

Hey man love your build! What beam pattern did you go with for your XL80s? I'm looking to pick up a pair for some ditch lights as well.

Me too. This is my DD and not a dedicated OR rig. I need to keep it reasonable for resale and I'm sure if I pick my parts right they will sell easy later in the worst case. I really want to keep this truck but shit happens and I don't want to cut body panels. My last 3 cars were all supposed to be keepers, the last one falling victim to the VW TDI emissions scandal, (buy back) the one before was written off while parked on the side of the road.

If I really have to I'll just wait till next year, order a bunch of CBI all at once and drive down to ID and have it installed there.

Looking at yours I think I'll do sliders with kickout and filler plates (steel) because of galvanic corrosion concerns, rear with dual swing out, provision for resis and BSM, and the hidden front winch mount.

Thoughts or would you do things different if you could do it again?

Hey, were you just up in the redwoods, specifically at Burlington Campground on Ave. of the Giants? Around 9/4 or 9/5?

    Wheels/Tires:
    • 4-Runner Trd Pro wheels.. 17"
    • BFG All-terrains 285/70/17's
Looking to do a similar wheel and tire combo. From my research , the TRD pro wheels are 7" wide and the BFG AT 285/70/17 require at least a 7.5" wide wheel. I had the tires on my 07 FJ but the wheel was 7.5in.

Am i missing something? Is there a TRD pro wheel that is at least 7.5in? This is not the first build that has that same tire and wheel combo.

    Great looking Taco!

I think there is an aftermarket wheel, the name of which escapes me at the moment that is 8”. I don’t think this is the wheel on this truck though.

FN Wheels makes a TRD Pro clone in 17x8 but it isn’t on their website because it sells out so frequently. There should be a pic/info thread in Wheels/Tires subforum. I think it’s called FN FX Pro

@Bray1197 did you have a relationship with those guys at the dealership to know they were capable of doing good work? Just got my 2017 TRD Pro and am wanting to start the build but not sure where to go. I’m in Charleston so not far from you guys. Debating on whether or not to trust my dealership here or try and go somewhere else.

Judging by the amount of work he had done there and the same guy was in a lot of the pics, finally that he mentioned the place I’m pretty sure he is confident in their work.
