I do have to admit the ride is firm but not stiff. I love them with Fox 2.0 with resi. It should be better with the King 2.5" with resi I'll be getting Monday :woot:

I ordered the OME shocks with the heavy duty dakars. Should I get extended Bilsteins instead? I was also going to use factory bump stops...

Yes you should. I didn't, but if I go offroad I'm risking messing up the shocks. Swapping out soon. If our gonna be on pavement or mild trails you should be fine

I'm usually just on pavement and occasional easy trail. Are stock bump stops ok?

To those that have combined the EL095R and the EL46XL to make a quasi heavy duty dakar, have you added anything to the AAL as far as leaf pads at the end of the springs or liners? Thinking about noise mitigation and trying to avoid ad hoc methods like adding zip ties or something.

I just ordered that combo this morning and am thinking about drilling/putting pads at the ends of the AALs before I install.

Also, thanks Marie for answering my shipping questions over this phone this morning and getting the first part of my order shipped out quickly!

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Does anyone know what size/thread pitch bolts are needed for the e-brake cable retainer? My stock ones were mounted to the through bolt on the guides or whatever they are that wraps around from the bottom but that won't work with these springs. I had to cut the bend off the end and now need to find a screw/bolt to mount them.

What dakars model are these, and did you use a AAL?

The 95R with no aal. Happy so far. Lost a bit of height when fully loaded with camping gear but it rode great.

The D29XL is for the old CS047R leaf pack. the EL46XL is for the new EL095R and EL096R leaf packs. One of the biggest differences is the hole for the center pin. The EL packs come with a slightly larger center pin then the previous model so the EL46XL has a larger diameter hole to accommodate. Also as time goes on the EL46XL's should be coming with the anti-squeak pads installed. I am not sure if they are going to do this to the D29XL's or not but I wouldn't think so.

So if I want to use the D29XL leaf with an EL095R pack I may need to drill the center pin hole out a little bit but otherwise it should work?

Or change the center pin out altogether. I don't really see why not.

Marie, Any idea when you'll get more of the heavy duty leafs in stock?
