Why did you choose that over Smittbilt? Just curious

Saw another post that mentioned this one. Liked that could rotate sideways or up/down, and it has a solid "post", not hollow. Under 33 bucks thru Amazon. Really, more for looks than function....in my case.

Smittybilt is solid too, but can not be rotated to have shackle vertical. Price is pretty much same on Amazon. The Vault is rated 10,000 lbs whereas Smittybilt is 9500. The reviews are good for both, so quality and finish seems to be not an issue with either. I guess Vault is the better choice overall.

I would paint the threads or use lock-tite on the screw pin or you won't have "the looks" to long. Several guys on here that had there's stolen.

He would not need a locking pin if he paints the threads. I use to work on inland towboats and paint the threads on new screw shackles before a big riggin swap in New Orleans harbor. :D Just something so the Cajun's would remember me from.

Without locking pin, they can take the whole thing, not just the shackle.

I thought I was so smart...... I did put a locking pin on it, so I should be good there. I did tighten down the screw post/portion but, might, "just to be sure..." paint the thread portion with some lock-tite. Thanks, great idea I did not think about.

Well, I finally decided on Silver. It was a toss up between that and the grey. I am the sales manager at my dealership and found "almost" exactly what I want a few hundred miles away. She will be here tomorrow I hope. '17 obviously, O/R double cab. Got everything I wanted except the roof rack. Oh well...Will post a pic as soon as I get her "braces" off the front end. God I hate chrome.

    Flaps look great!

I have those exact stickers sitting in my desk in my office and I haven't gotten around to fitting them. I'm such a slacker sometimes. Do you have a photo from the back? I'm curious where you fit them, so I can get an idea of what height I should set them at.
