Dry weight of the camper is 4470lbs, loaded for a trip i'm around the 5500-6000lb mark, tongue weight is 470lbs with the tanks full, add the battery and i'm around 500lbs. The trailer is 27' total length. My advise is don't tow with any of the tanks full, this way the liquid in the tanks doesn't force the trailer to sway more than it already does. Thanks for the compliment on the truck, I love the truck and wouldn't drive anything else. That's and older pic, It now has a leer cap on it and different steps.

I tow my 27' camper no problem. The heavier the trailer, the slower you go. I don't go over 60 mph and everything is fine.
I can haul a 10,000 lb fertilizer wagon a mile or so up the road no problem but I don't go over 25 either.

I never tow with anything in the tanks, so that's ok. My trailer will be 6100 without luggage, it's obviously pushing it, hence the reason for my initial question. I also have a Leer cap, takes away the look a little but much happier with dry cargo!

You tow that 10,000 with a Tacoma or Tundra?

The two that I am looking at are approx. 3500lbs and 4500lbs dry no way I would want to be pulling 6100lbs I am hoping to not go over 5500lb loaded.

10,000 lbs with a Tacoma. Up the road to the next field. It was a one time random thing. Gravity bins don't have brakes either so slow and no hills was the rule. Lol
I saw a tundra on YouTube pull a jet plane so I'm not in that class for sure.

Moving and controlling/stopping are 2 different things. You can tow a 747 with a lawnmower...

I don't need advise on towing as I tow regularly with my truck regularly in my business. Some people are afraid the weight will hurt the truck. It won't. Just stay within the limitations and keep your speed appropriate to the load and your experience.

I don't know why people feel the need to take everything to the limit. A friend purchased a Tacoma the same time as I did. He was going to tow his 2 snow machines in an enclosed trailer that was smaller that anything yall are talking about here. After 2 trips he sold the Tacoma and bought a full size truck. It worked out well for me because I bought his almost new factory bed mat at a great price.

My bet is either the OP will be a rolling road block or end up like this. Either option doesn't sound that pleasant.

Hmmm. Maybe you and your friend shouldn't tow... or give advice on towing for that matter.

Like yours is any better lol Take it to the limit and drive slow. I will grant you that it will probably work, but everyone else on the road will be hating on the OP.

we all bend the rules when left with no options. The 10,000 gravity wagon was a one time thing from the sounds of it. Also a gravity wagon has no tongue weight enabling the front tires to have full braking and steering abilities. If the OP is considering the purchase of this trailer then he has enough input to make his decision. I would never be comfortable loading my wife and kids into that setup and going on a vacation. I have towed everything under the sun and used to own a duramax 2500 HD. The taco is very capable when kept in the specifications. Pulling isn't the problem, stopping and correcting a sway is. Do what ever you want, it's your truck. Just don't do it around my truck and loved ones. FWIW the total load of your truck and trailer needs to be under 11,000. Good luck and be safe.
